I read this one when it came out. Very quirky book.
Absolutely loved that book, it’s a lovely melancholy read.
I’ve been meaning to try some Pratchett for a while, but was put off by the kindle prices, and not sure if I was going to start at the beginning, or select a different jumping in point.
Found all these in a charity shop the other day, so picked the whole lot up
I also read Creative Act by Rick Ruben this summer, was very inspiring I hope everyone here can get a chance to read it. In a similar vein I also read Art and Fear which was equally inspiring/motivating.
Now I am almost done Mixing with Impact which is helping me a lot with the storytelling aspect of mixing.
Fish!
A book about unconventional motivation
A little too romantic for my taste, but it kind of reflects a little on modern leadership. Short read.
Very cool! Back in my theology nerd days, this would have been right up my alley. It’s been a long time since I’ve interacted with anything of the sort hough, and there is no way I would be able to work my way through a book like that these days.
I’m the first to admit that it’s a tougher read than the cover looks! I end up reading an essay or two at a time and then letting it soak in for several days.
My reading-fu isn’t what it was twenty years ago either!
„Why Nations Fail“ while very interesting is a tough read.
This was a recommendation by a good friend of mine and gives a very good overview of what happens if we rely to heavily on algorithms without questioning them. I’m on page 58 and so far it’s very recommendable.
The hobbit ! 80s hardback version…//
Siddartha by Hermann Hesse. A short and interesting philosophical take on life and meaning.
Just you wait. For a nonfiction book there are quite a few twists!
This has been on my “read eventually” list for a while. Is it very dense?
Been buying classics on Audible. Stuff I never had to read in school. Also going through my David Eddings collection and the 10 book Thieves World series again. At my age, with books and movies, what was old is new again.
It‘s well written and very informative, go for it
Reading some good diet and health books:
Lies My Doctor Told Me Second Edition: Medical Myths That Can Harm Your Health by Ken Berry, MD
The Great Cholesterol Myth, Revised and Expanded: Why Lowering Your Cholesterol Won’t Prevent Heart Disease–and the Statin-Free Plan that Will
I follow Dr. Ken Berry channel online so good for keto and health! My glucose and insuline went from pre-diabetic to normal on keto diet so the grains and sugar are pure poison.
Just finishing up the “Three-Body Problem” trilogy…at times a tedious read but all in all still interesting and at times thought provoking. Book 3 seemed the most interesting to me, closely followed by Book 2.
