Very nice! Phosphorescent is a jam.
Me as well. I remember seeing them live in 1992 and the highlight for me was this track, which had to be omitted from Last Rights for legal reasons.
Is goooood
the last couple of albums by Eyeless in Gaza are as good as anything theyâve ever done (though admittedly a lot less lo-fi than their early eighties works)
Apropos of not much other than catching up on this thread, and seeing that Dry Cleaning track pop up again - itâs really funny, I canât get on with it, despite (or perhaps because of) really liking all the stuff itâs influenced by. Life Without Buildings, the Fall, the Stranglers (via Elastica), etc.
Donât want to be a hater. I think itâs her lyrics though.
Hereâs some stuff in that vein that I do like:
Ha, fair enough- they are quite marmite-y with my friends too. If you described them to me Iâd have said I would have hated them (that kind of spoken word vocals, snatches of conversation, vague ennui) but actually I really like their sound.
Conversely, I would have thought it was right up my street, haha. I like some of the guitar work for sure. Donât want to be negative. I feel bad now.
Dude, those three tracks are basically 18 year old me.
Used to love Life Without Buildings, til they disappeared completely. Although Sue Tompkins turned up on a Russell Haswell track a couple of years ago. Very different kettle of fish, mind you.
It was an amazing album. Great guitarist too. Some live footage just popped up on YT literally in the last month. Posted by the guy who booked them.
Donât start me on my teenage indie tendencies thoughâŠ
Fan of this.
Iâm fully into my Layers101 playlist
Tonight is Severance night
Iâve been listening to quite a few EERSTE COMMUNIE sets. Cause I really miss dancefloors.
