Still getting my live sampling chops together and typically just set a one shot trig to keep both hands free to play in a live sample. I’ve heard of Cue record, seen it in the manual, but don’t get what the advantages might be. Can anyone shed any light on this?
I use CUE record sometimes. It gives me opportunity to choose which track OR tracks simultaneously will I record in the dedicated buffer.
If you don’t use CUE record, then AFAIK you always have to choose between AB/CD/T1-8/MAIN in recording setup on the dedicated track.
Correct me if I’m wrong!
Cheers.
Ok, that makes sense. If you want to resample 3 tracks down to one without muting anything, for example?
CUE record is also fun when playing out of the buffer you’re recording:
- Cue levels then become like sends
- You can cue the track that’s playing the record buffer for dubby feedback
Discovering this was a big ‘aha moment’ for me and the OT, and when I really started feeling like I was dealing with something very new.
Exactly)
That’s definitely my favorite use of CUE.
You can use it as a pitch / reverse delay with feedback.
Ok, this is starting to sound fun
It can be fun once properly set up, but it is not that easy to set up and control.
Wait, you mean something on my Octatrack May be confusing and weird?! Shocking!!!
