Walrus Audio Meraki Stereo Analog BBD

Ah, I see your issue now: parallel routing. This exceeds the simplicity of my setup, for which I’ve been actively avoiding the use of a mixer. In your case, the latter could perhaps provide a more flexible alternative.

This said, the SB6 is a surprisingly flexible little helper - it is even capable of dual mono, which is the way I’m using it.

Knowing of its existence is good enough though: as it does not add any magic to the sound, it should only be bought to solve actual problems. In my case, it did not solve the initial issue I had encountered in my signal chain (i.e. noise coming from the Osmose’s factory dc power adapter) but it unexpectedly solved the line to instrument level problem with a Thermae

Im entirely happy how this baby handles line level….

I also have no problems with line level, but it does overdrive easily so you have to be a bit careful.

I didn’t find any discussion on this, but I really wish the Meraki had a more pronounced filter with a bigger range. I think the filter is the most boring one I have encountered in a pedal. I understand that a tilt EQ is fundamentally different from say the resonant LPF found in the Thermae, but the Diamond Memory Lane 2 also had a tilt EQ and that was waaay more pronounced. It could do a very clear high-pass sound, but on the Meraki the difference between noon and fully clockwise is relatively small. I suspect it might also have something to do with noise filtering, because it is a surprisingly quiet pedal for an analog BBD.

The modulation also seems very conservative to me. I notice little difference between the sine and square wave shapes, and the overal depth seems small in comparison to other delays I’ve tried.

These two limitation together make the Maraki not so interesting in terms of sound design, and I think it’s a missed opportunity. For smooth and more subtle sounds it’s a very nice pedal, but I suspect the next manufacturer making a stereo BBD would make it more versatile.

I just got mine yesterday and totally agree with it taking line level but overdrives easily.

Also It’s pretty weird how they implemented midi channel change on this pedal. Anyone know what MIDI Channel this pedal is set to from the factory?
