Well that deescalated quickly. I shoulda known, but for a moment there I got excited. :man_shrugging:t4: Moving on…

I expect it’ll have a proper launch at some point.

Hell yeah. im definitely going to check this out. Not a huge fan of dropping coin on hardware synths anymore, and typically for Waldorf that needed to be done.

Name Microwave 1, and it’s live now

This thing is super dope. I don’t need many software synths, but it’s such a unique sounding one, especially for the music I make. Pretty pumped they did this.

They should put this in a box, like a Roland boutique but bigger.

This actually looks pretty great, but god damn, why are companies so slack about detailing system requirements for their software these days!? No information anywhere.

A nice demo by ‘Mr. Ambient’ Martin Stürtzer :

Isn’t that essentially the waldorf m?

Hermode Tuning (HMT) is missing!!! Aaaaahhh… :scream:

As a Microwave 1 Rev. 1 and Wave user I think it’s a great VST.

I’ve got a deep and heart felt love for when modelling of digital synths goes deep to pick out the quirks of the digital hardware and isn’t just an emulation of the synth architecture. This video really gets into some of that detail:

There’s a really beautiful character to even simple sine waves that this kicks out. I would love if Waldorf were to revisit the Blofeld/Pulse 2 desktop format to do a hardware version of this Microwave vst… but I get the impression that Waldorf are sticking to the upper end of the market these days. Doubtless I’ll be getting the VST at some point anyway.

Now on iPad!

DOPE

is it a separate purchase though? (edit: $12.99 is a pretty good deal :open_mouth:, smart to release the plugin version first, I probably would have only bought the ipad version otherwise haha iPad apps tend to be a steal in comparison to their computer counterparts.)

with Logic for iPad I really hope that more plugin makers port things over to iPad. Logic for iPad is quickly becoming my preferred groovebox + daw solution. It’s so handy and well built, I am happy this is available as so many existing synth plugins for ipad are pretty old at this point and their UI/workflow is kinda bad. This almost makes me realize that this was probably developed with Ipad in mind from the beginning because of the size and shape of all the buttons, very touchable.

I am completely stunned at how good the iOS version sounds - dang!

I was not that interested in the VST before but I definitely am now.
