I’m working on a project currently where I need some 90s straight to VHS, cheap old keyboard style strings style cinematic strings and I was wondering of there was a VST that offered that dull dated sound.
I’m leaning towards purchasing the Korg M1 vst but was wondering if there were cheaper or free options?
I would check Spitfire Studios LABS… they have a library called synth strings that should be exactly what your looking for…

I think they have a tape strings as well in case you need something dirtier.
Thanks! I checked them out synth strings sounds a bit too sci-fi. Tape strings sound too genuine.
Now…when I play them- who knows.

They have mod parameters that change the character of the sound. You press the middle of the circle to show all of them. It’s called variation in the menu.
But at least you know what you’re looking for.
