For me personally @Voltagectrlr was the best Elektron representative musically. I wanted to own every elektron device he used just because he made everything sound so experimental and fresh. Because of him i got the AH+FX even though it first seemed like a pass for me. And now i love it.
And he shows interesting new ways to use the Digitakt, Digitone and almost every other elektron device. On top of that he’s spiritual minded and gives great creative advice and shares workflow ideas and concepts.
I was sure he would get every new elektron box for free to demo it. But i haven’t seen him with the DT2 yet. And it seems like he’s not with Elektron anymore. At least right now.
And i don’t want to get into business decisions and discussions as this is of course a personal thing.
I just wanted to share my appreciation for his work and art.
This video is one that gave me a few new ideas for sound design on the DT.
I thought it was pretty dope when he showed that a lot of his hip hop, and general drum duty stuff all starts out on the machinedrum. I guess that was probably a couple of years ago at this point so maybe that’s not the case anymore, but dude always keeps it interesting.
Always sound logic, and explanations about how things work with his live rig vs composition. Nice digestible content really shines through for me and seems like a cool guy.
Hey! Thanks a lot for the kind words, I’m still working with elektron, they didn’t invite me to work on any content for the new boxes yet, I’m friends with all the people at the LA office and I had a great time chilling the with Team from HQ when they are in Los Angeles. I need a Tonverk and Digitakt 2 to be in the modern elektron era. Ive also been posting new digitone 2 content on youtube.
Once again thank you for posting this.
