I was just running my Perfourmer into Ableton and decided to chuck tuner on the input channel for some fun ears-free tuning.
All was going well until I clicked on the 440hz tuning switch and saw that it was a few cents off.
Anyone ran into this before? Solutions?
I Always use 440hz tuning from the performer and adjust by ears. Never double checked but if its not accurate, no problem for me. that the personnality of the performer.
“Cynical hat donned”, Oora was given an A4 by Elektron, I think he’s creating a sound pack for it. I struggle with his videos a bit now as it seems he’s often promoting the latest piece of gear he’s acquired but they don’t normally stick around in his rotation for long. I find it much more interesting with these folks to wait and see what they’re still using 6 months down the line.
Means I end up taking anything they say with a pinch of salt.

Absolutely. I did post the video before watching it. 
I appreciate his earlier videos more than recently (before he went all in in this Synthfluencer world).

I might just be being paranoid, but I’m a bit suspect of his ‘I had one for a while but don’t remember why I didn’t like it’, feels like he’s holding back a bit.
Admittedly he might just be in a different place, musically. I don’t want to hate on the guy it’s nice for him that he’s seeing a lot of success, I was quite shocked when he mentioned casually in a recent video that he’s only been doing music for a few years! There’s a case study in there somewhere.
I think it’s before everyone’s eyes what the guy is up to.

He does mention that he was an Elektron fanboy (many are for good reason lol) long before they gave him anything and are happy he got free gear. But yes with many videos like these, always take with a grain of salt. In saying that, I think his comparison is pretty fair and the points he makes seemed to be genuine.

I don’t really understand the purpose of comparing the two devices. I actually really like Oora’s stuff, haven’t watched the comparison so this is probably out of context. But I have used both, own a perfourmer, and it’s like comparing beer to wine. They both do the same thing in principle, but there’s nothing to compare.

I do, its called “I must make a video, like any video to keep my revenue flowing” type of video.
I own both devices and could tell you in 2 minutes the differences, however Oora managed to stretch the video explaining the blatantly obvious for 45 minutes, don’t get me wrong I like the guy but nowadays I’m seeing straight through influencers.

I’m a little bit worried about the guy. Every other video he mentions he is done getting new gear, but literally EVERY week he was a new piece of gear costing $2k+. In the last three months or so since he got his new studio he has spent at least $50-100k on gear and that is assuming he got a screaming deal on his zahl mixer (last video he mentioned buying a cv channel for it too omg) and gets a lot of stuff for free as well.
He may have received the A4 for free from electron this time, but in this video he also casually mentions buying a haken continuum. And as someone mentioned the gear doesn’t seem to get a ton of use… his deckards dream has been languishing in the corner along with a ton of other stuff that was only used briefly. I can’t imagine this can continue very long before some sort of implosion.
I really liked his old videos where it was him in his home studio making some music on his perfourmer lol.

Yeah I often wonder how much he payed for the zahl mixer, I remember going over to the website to see how much they cost then regained consciousness two days later
