Vermona Perfourmer and AR 2

Thought i’d drop the question in here as i don’t see the point in staring a new thread.

When it comes to sequencing the Perfourmer which would be most useful. The OT or AR or A4. I know the OT can do more but the Rhythm could be quite handy with the drums. Not quite sure.

AR’s midi capabilities are very limited and they only mirror the output of the internal tracks, so you either have to sacrifice a track (turning off the synth engine and sample layer) to use it for midi only, or have them trigger at the same time as your drums. OT is vastly superior here, and the midi arp is great imo.

Where I think the AR/4 out does the OT is in Direct Jump. It’s like “playing” the patterns/sequences. I get kind of bored these days waiting for an OT pattern to finish :slightly_smiling_face:

But yeah OT still offers a lot.

Yes for live playing and spontaneity. Especially on longer patterns i know what you mean.

Could you use a couple of Plays Free tracks for some situations where you’d otherwise use Direct Jump? I guess you’d have to manually trig them…

Actually I haven’t explored the Plays Free on the MIDI side, so can’t speak to it. I think the last time I tried - awhile ago - it was buggy or something and kind of put me off. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do and I can see it being fun but not the exact same thing.

The Vermona perFOURmer as a 4 VCO mono for me is a wonderful synth.
In retrospect I should have gotten a second one, but now they are tough to find
either new or used.

Pretty sure the Keystep will output CV/Gate to control the Monotribe.
