I have an Analog Rytm MKII, with the latest OS update.
Set up is pretty straightforward:
Logic ProX is controlling everything in my rig
(Transport, Program changes for patterns, some notes as well)
USB MIDI out -> MOTU Microlite -> AR MIDI IN
Each synth is assigned to a different channel on the Microlite.
The problem:
I get random velocity drops, sometimes on a whole channel (easy to fix while playing live, just select the track and twist the velocity knob), sometimes on trigs (a little bit more difficult to manage).
Snare (second pad bottom row) and hi-hat (top left corner) are the most touched by the problem.
It affects different kits + different patterns.
Every time it happens, I make sure to reset to the right velocity and save the pattern.
It can be okay for a few jams, then all of a sudden, a random velocity drop appears.
Is it a bug? Is it something in my set up? Help please: we’re starting to play shows in a few weeks.
I jam done with this little trick you gave me: no velocity drops, neither on trigs nor tracks.
So far so good. I’ll be really happy if it works again this afternoon!
Seems like you fixed it, but I was able to track down the exact cause as I have the same setup and issue recently.
In Logic ‘Midi Settings’ you have a tab of ‘Reset Messages’ one of them being under ‘External Midi: Control 4 (Foot Control to 0)’ which is the culprit sending CC 4 data to your rhytm. I unchecked all of them and it solved it for me, while still allowing me to send specific CCs from my DAW in the future sonI can leave that feature on in the rhytm. Hope this helps.
