Vectra Future Retro

Looks like a cool design… hard to know exactly what is going on here. I tried a the future retro 512 touch keybed before and wasn’t really a fan of the feel when compared to the makenoise touch control devices. Hope the touch keybed on this is better.

They joysticks look pretty fun but take up a lot of space. Looks to be a very screen centric workflow otherwise. Makes me wonder who the target audience is. A more performance oriented crowd surely wouldn’t want to put up with a touch keyboard?

Hmm, Vectra? Sounds and looks like it could be inspired by vector synthesis ala Prophet VS/SY22, etc.

which may explain the four joysticks.

“Vector synthesis provides movement in a sound by providing dynamic cross-fading between (usually) four sound sources. The four sound sources are conceptually arranged as the extreme points of X and Y axes, and typically labelled A, B, C and D. A given mix of the four sound sources can be represented by a single point in this ‘vector plane’.” (Wikipedia)

Looks cool!

Definitely cooler than this, though less practical.

Glad to see him back in the synth game. It’s been almost 15 years since the XS. Good stuff.

Yeah I always thought the revolution looked pretty sweet. I never picked one up but the Zillion was a very unique and fun sequencer. This looks like it’s got some of that juice in the arp/sequencer.

I’m the original owner of a 1st gen Revolution (white with wood) and the only thing I’ve done to it is it modify the battery to make replacement easier. It’s been reliable and fun and I dig the sound.

I’m in… I placed my pre-order

I love my Swynx and Zillion, and the preview video has me pretty sure I’ll love my Vectra too

Holy moly this thing looks amazing! Has anyone gotten theirs yet?

I did, serial 072… I think the wood end cheeks on mine are cherry (? not sure)

It’s pretty amazing, capable of really good percussion sounds, especially kick drums, which I wasn’t expecting. Haven’t had time to really use it yet (couple funerals recently, busy time of year at work, etc.), but super glad I got one. A keeper, for sure :slightly_smiling_face:

Awesome! Excited to try one out! Not enough out there on it right now…

Had not seen this thing…4 joysticks: must be good

Weird though that 3 of them seem hardwired and only one of them freely assignable.

Curious to hear your samples!

Got mine today, bought it local from someone who preordered a year ago and had no space for it now.

This thing is insane cool and fun to play. Wow. Incredibly impressed! I do wish there were a loopop video on it though.

Would love to hear/see more reviews of it!

I don’t think there will be more than a 100 of these made…that bums me out.

Looks like another stellar synth by future retro.
Very expressive. Great concept.
Unfortunately out of my price range.
