Using iPad for effects (send effects from bluebox) too quiet

Hello,

I’m using my old iPad (with AUM) with my Motu M6 audio interface via a Bluebox Mixer.

I’m obviously being stupid somewhere, but I can never get the send effects to sound loud enough, does anyone else get this with a similar setup? I am going to borrow an external effects pedal again soon and see how that compares, I use to have a Microcosm, but did have similar issues if I remember, this was via the Bluebox too as a send effect. I’ll try the pedal direct into a synth and see. Maybe it’s the the Bluebox 1010 mixer. I’ve tried increasing the gain on the Bluebox and increased the volume on the Motu.

Is the iPad’s volume turned up? Some audio interfaces set it to max automatically, others don’t. Also, check this setting in AUM:

Yeah iPad is at the max, I didn’t know about the AUM setting, I’ll check this out too, it feels like it’s the Bluebox as I had it with the Microcosm, but let me test this evening again. Cheers for highlighting this option.
