Using a EU plug in the US

Purchased a Leploop that comes with a 12v 400ma EU wall wart with a input of 230~50Hz, and an output of 12v~400ma. Would I be safe just getting just a simple little $5 EU to US adapter, or should I just purchase a whole new ac power adaptor to be safe?

Yep. I took my EU DN to the US and used a little cheap adaptor no problem. Also, bought a MacBook Air while I was there (Apple is so much cheaper in the US!) and that works fine back home in Europe too. TL;DR yes :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a bunch buddy!

Does it indicate that it can run off of US wall voltage? (110V)? Elektron (after Mk1) & Apple adapters are typically universal voltage

I don’t see any thing on the adapter to indicate that it can.

I’d take that to mean it’s expecting EU voltage. The labelling is usually explicit

That’s what the adapter looks like. Same brand. Just replace 9v with 12v 400ma.

Yeah, it would say 110-240V like this is if it could work with both (You’d just need the physical plug adapter)

If it just says 240V, it’s very unlikely to work with 110V, and I wouldn’t chance it.

Right on gang. Glad I asked. Should a 12v US power supply work?

Once it’s got the right sized barrel jack and outputs 12V 400Ma, then yes.

Edit: That pic you posted is an AC/AC power supply. Is that what your device uses? Most things use DC power supply (Machinedrums being an exception in the Elektron world), and you cannot confuse the two.

That’s it right there.

Ok, AC/AC power supplies like that are harder to come by (ask anyone who’s lost/broke their Machinedrum one). Just be sure you’re getting the right thing.

AC/AC (very important!)

Input 110V
Output 12V 400Ma

And then whatever the correct barrel jack size is.
