USB audio host FX box?

Lots of boxes now do audio out over USB, but that requires a computer of some kind to receive that audio.

Are there any FX boxes that do USB audio hosting? I can think of only the OP-1 and OP-XY. Other than that it’s a laptop or an iPad.

Is there anything else? Or any neat workarounds for using small portable FX boxes with small portable grooveboxes?

Sounds like the target market for TE’s TX-6.

Is the TX6 a USB audio host though?

Don’t have the faintest idea about that, I was only commenting on the workaround part

Buuut at least the patch notes for TX-6 version 1.2.10 mention “usb audio host mode support”. Not going to look into it any further than that though!

it is… what is it you want to achieve specifically?

For less money you will get an iPad and a big bunch of awesome effects and possibly still got money left for an audio interface.

You can use a Norns to run FX / audio input over USB and the right mods.

Elektron should make one tbh… at least they know their protocols best used with USB/OB

Sending a track out of the M8 via usb to an external effect. I can do it just fine with Ableton or an iPad, but I wonder if there’s another way to do it. Just interested

technically, you can do that with the TX-6… it has a in and out mode which is made for sending stuff both in and out at the same time via USB… BUT, my strong suspicion is that it wont work with the m8, since it is not set up to work with the m8.

The M8 does work with the OP-XY, for both audio and midi, but there’s no way to send the USB AUX signal out of the XY’s line out.

It’s handy for its built-in FX though, and the tape.

You mean thru the aux out right? Cause main out is possible.

Yes, AUX out, and then back in again. I wonder if I could use the main out, then bring the effected signal back in without any feedback. You’ve given me an idea!
