“On this new album, Urban Exploration have culled and carefully developed tracks from many hours jamming at the Crooked Acres studio, unconsciously channelling childhood memories of science fiction and creepy horror films, their earliest electronic music inspirations, from the cosmic wonder of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter to the hopeful euphoria of 90s rave, and the game-changing technical innovations of early Warp and Skam records releases. Binding this together is an unarticulated desire to return to first principles and electronic music’s lost futurism: pure analogue tones, epic landscapes, radiophonic noise and vast synthetic atmospheres.”
