That mixer is ticking all my boxes…
Now when are these lottery numbers coming in
I think the Elara 6 is smaller than an XONE96/Model 1. I know the Elara 4 is very compact for a 4 channel mixer and was designed for those with small DJ booths/areas. I think the advantage of buying from Union Audio is that your buying directly from the designer and it it is built by his team. If you are paying £1000+ for a mixer, then sound quality is an enormous factor. As a smaller company they are able to fill it with quality components without a suit behind him wondering why they cant use a resistor that is £0.05 cheaper… It’s built in the UK (Cornwall - so good jobs in an incredibly deprived area), so better working conditions for the employees (as much as you can in this globalised economy). And good, personal customer service. I imagine they want to take the place of other mixers in booths and have a design that is fairly ubiquitous!
Can’t find a photos of the Elaras next to Technics turntables. Would be good to see how big/small they are. Does anybody have an Elara 4?. I like the idea of really a high quality compact 4channel mixer with a decent Crossfader.
It is indeed
300x370mm. Much smaller than the 96. About 10mm taller than standard mixer size (model 1) and a bit less wide. Pretty nice.
And totally agree as well. It’s great that smaller companies like this try to make club ready mixers even though DJ’s are somewhat stuck with an industry standard. I think in the love scene this might actually do really well though. In due time ![]()
@DOEOP measures can be found in the manual which might give you a bit of an idea.
I’m curious how this stacks up against the xone92, especially soundquality-wise, as this is probably the closest in terms of specs.
X92 does not have width control and drive as far as I know, but instead it has tap tempo for midi to control external time based effects, etc. Neither have USB or digital audio of any sort, if I’m reading the specs right.
X92 can be had for about half the price.
Good question yeah. Same designer so it obviously has a lot of the 92 in it in terms of layout and functions.
Would be interesting to do a comparison. I expect the Elara to be a no-compromise version of the 92.
One thing that has me wondering is the type of knobs that are used. I have a few eurorack modules with those kinds of knobs and because of how light reflects on it, it can be difficult to see the white stripe in low light conditions especially. But maybe that’s just me
This does look really interesting but does raise the question if you don’t mind? Has the 1.4 not kept your interest? Asking as close to buying one though 92 is plan b
Oh it has. I just love mixers haha. Model 1.4 is incredible.
I wonder if CUE2 could be used to feed a Digitakt input.
Thanks for the post @DaveMech
