Very new- Nice looking and easy to use synths with a rather unique ‘ultra wave’ engine, well worth as demo, developer seems active (just adding MPE currently)
There is a pretty useful demo (30 minute sessions, no save but otherwise unrestricted)
Not much on this at the moment a couple of basic videos. Reminded me a little of a cross between Serum 2, Pigments and Current (not a bad thing) I realy like the GUI- havent really worked out the ‘ultra wave’ stuff but there is a good explanation here: UltraWave Concepts | Help | Ultra
OK, I have been playing with the ultrawave…I think it may be something actually new…well its new to me!
In a nutshell…Very easy import of samples that are converted to wavetables so that you can mangle a full sample like a wavetable. Has a separate ‘attack’ component that stays a sample (great for drums) and has a pitch and amplitude envelope…does great ‘stereo’ fx (stereo wavetables etc), its very easy to use considering its combining multisampling with wavetables conversion.
And that just one oscillator…also has supersaw (very nice), duel analogue, sampler, noise and sub.
Combine all that with one of the best GUI/UIs I have come across (as it borrows from the best!) and you have a very nice synth indeed. I even quite liked the online pre-set browser/purchasing (free credits with demo) that is very similar to ‘Current’ VST- but it is all ‘phone home’ stuff if that bothers you.
Its a new developer but they are already active on KVR/VI and taking requests!
If you are wondering what WT a sample sounds like, I came across this demo someone made with a violin sample
I remember when you hyped TRIAZ in this forum: I bought it and it was a very long and sometimes frustrating journey till they were able to publish TRIAZ version 1.2.
I won’t spend my money any more too early for a company that has no reputation being able to throw enough devs on the development of their products. I’ll wait at least one to two years.
That’s why demos exist, so you can try things for your self and make up your own mind. Ps …I’m still a big Triaz fan and just bought their latest oak bundle , it’s great!
i watched the videos when it came out, the way samples can be used / looped/ extended looked like a ‘new’ thing to me … the sound examples were good in the demo…
i didnt download… i have too many synths already … but it was good to see someone trying something new plus the end results seemed good.
Yeh, the ultra wave thing is definitely the USP, it’s very early days (I think it was launched in January) but definitely one to watch…I’m waiting to see how MPE is implemented before I jump, it’s not a no-brainer price! Hopefully a few power users will have fed back to forums by then!
