F#$k me, looks unreal
Yes, it seems they took it down rather quickly.
Really good design. UDO use great designers for their collateral (thou not sure if that agency is trading anymore).
That consideration really adds the overall experience of their products. Some of best aesthetics around IMO.
EDIT… the designer is now CD of UDO… wonder if he’s related to George Hearn?
EDIT 2.0
He’s worked at Made Thought… one of the best design studios on earth ![]()
Wasnt the Domino the one in his base he showed to Nick Batt? And everyone said wow it sounds great.
What was on the 2nd slide in the ig post? ![]()
If that’s what it looks like, I dig it. I hope there’s a module version too. And I love that display throwback to 80s/90s ish.
Thank you ![]()
UDOberheim SEM-Pander
It’s definitely got SEM vibes
It’s gorgeous.
I hope it makes an appearance at Bristronica tomorrow. I think this is going to be priced to compete with the Melbourne Instruments Delia, probably £2-300 lower due to the lack of motorised knobs. £1699 is my guess.
Looks like it’s got 6 custom wave slots on OSC1 and 3 on OSC2 (both layers). I think there’s a knob marked something like WAVE/PWM so maybe that’s custom wavetables.
VFDs are my favorite displays! They CAN be a bit noisy, but if they’re on their own supply rails not too bad. Just love that glow. It’s one of the things I love about the Xpander, (aside from everything else about the Xpander
)
I’m I wrong or is there a label ‘in’ at the back next to aux out?
Saw this before they took it down earlier. Didn’t think to copy paste things at the time. 8 voice hybrid architecture. One of the nicest looking synths I’ve seen in a long while
Yeah it’s doing all the right things in the looks department. I’m confident UDO will have made it sound fantastic. I usually look for more LFOs and dual filter, but I could possibly forgive that if it’s got massive sweetspots and the dynamic architecture brings something unique.
I’ve been very slowly shopping for a nice polysynth.
