Due to hurricane Helene my family is currently displaced, staying with family in Central NC while we wait for food, water and utilities to return to our area. We are safe and grateful that we had enough gas to get out of town. I feel so lucky to have had the ability to make music in the past and will hopefully be able to do so again soon.
Flashback to Feb 2022, We had just bought a house and on the same day found out that our son was going to join us on Earth. I was going to be packing up in Greensboro, working in Asheville, staying at Air BNBs over the week, staying at home over the weekend.
I packed a synth, a drum machine, an effect unit and a tape recorder. Before and after work, I wrote and recorded. One week I took a Yamaha Reface CP and an Analog 4, the next week I took a Reface CS and an Octatrack.
The 29 songs were whittled down to my twelve favorite. When we got to Asheville I unpacked my studio and started trying to rerecord the songs only to find that I liked the grit and awkwardness of the originals better. I redid a vocal take here or there, added guitar and bass and that’s it!
This is Cruciferous Iterations, twelve whispery and crunchy tracks. $0+ download and free to stream!! Whether you are at home or away from home (hopefully not for too long!), please let my hiss be your guest.
