TV monitor vs normal lcd

Hi guys, well I’m working in Ableton in a small MacBook Pro 13 and I wanna upgrade so my eyes will thank me .
The price of a LCD is almost the same as a Led tv and this one is also bigger screen . Does anybody use a Led TV ? Is the resolution ok ? It connects with mini display port to HDMI .

Cheers in advance

I used to use pcs on Sony hdtv at work which were good. ( quite high end modern Sony )

My iMac on my own Sony hdtv is ok but not very sharp

Summary - depends on tv though mine is old , only 1080p
If you take your Mac to a store they might plug it in for you.
As it’s probably something your going to use for years it’s worth researching but there are many many TVs around.

Yes, good idea

Well indent wanna spend a lot of money maybe 150/200€

The trouble with modern televisions are that 1. they might contain all kinds of “smart” features that connect to the internet by themselves or force you to wait for firmware updates and 2. that some of them do have a lot of post-processing to “improve” the picture which is in almost all cases not what you want for computer usage.

You can find a decent guide to computer monitors at https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-monitors/

I use a big 40 inchLCD Tv. I use live 10. I’ve never had any issues and now prefer it than going back to a monitor.

I use one of these as a big screen for my MacBook and I highly recommend it. Exactly in your budget too
