To @dataline and everyone else here who is Turkish or knows people in the area, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and unhurt.

What a week for the planet. I’m still reeling.

You’re more than welcome.

I would be very interested to hear what you have to say mr dataline … but I can also see why you would not want politics in this forum and your own personal opinions attached to that …

Todays turkey reminds me to putin, bombing his own blocks to attack tjetjenia

maybe he didnt set it up by himself, but the reaction is unacceptable; i think

well Mr TrabanT , i would be interested to hear what you have to say as well. why should mr dataline know more than you ?

So the rebel jets had Erdoğan’s plane locked on but “mysteriously” failed to shoot. The timing of the coup was also very convenient: exactly while the world was distracted by the attacks in Nice, and while Erdoğan was on holiday. The footage of rebel soldiers being captured without a fight, with confused looks on their faces. I wonder what orders they were given, and what will happen to them now.

Staged or not, this coup has allowed the AKP to grab a scary amount of power. Dark days for Turkey.

allright … so first I am supporter for most poeple driven revolutions if these go towards democracy … with the turkey thing I am feeling REALLY sorry for the (young) soldiers who claim they were thinking it was a training exercise and carried out (training exercise) orders. … (and then were surprised to have gen pop fight against tanks, or were receiving orders to shoot civilians).

other than that, I just happened to have been on the reddit thread right from the start.

Erdogan on holidays, France shutting down its consulate (or embassy) 2 days prior to that.

whats your take on it hereiamhere75 ?
