Trig param LEN vs. AMP env

I dont understand how to use trig param length.

I expected note off would act as an AMP gate, but it seems all tracks work “one-shot” ? when I use a sample and sample is set to loop, I get that “gate” behavior.

thanks.

does trig length affect anything if no looped sample is used?

FUNCTION+PAD does output the velocity set in global trig params.
this is not the case for LEN.

I dig “midi gate -> note off” mode a lot since I can use note lengths (e.g. note trig lengths) and have subtle variations. with AR I can lock params so this is not a big deal. still trig LEN could be greyed out if it does not do anything.

I am aware most drumsynths are one-shot only (exceptions: waldorf attack, drumatic). most drum editors like in cubase do not support note length either.
poor drum sounds. they must feel inferior to “instrumental sounds”

asking again, sorry if I am too stupid to get it.

If the Amp Hold parameter is set to “Auto” (zero), then the Amp Decay phase is started after the Trig Length (or your finger release if you play the pads).

Agreed, poor one-shot drum sounds without length.

thanks mr.
part of my problem with envelopes was I did not understand hold=AUTO refers to trig length.
