I’m sure there’s a complicated way to do this, but wondering if there’s a simple way just using scenes.
Setup is pretty simple:
Scene A - Trigs on 1 and 7, slices 1&2
Scene B - Trigs on 1 and 7, scene B switches it to slice 3
Problem is, I don’t want Trig7 to trigger in Scene B … is there any way to do this using scenes, or do I have to dig deeper?
Thanks
Oops, i’m already realizing that I was even clear enough, in scene B I’d like the whole sample on Trig 1 to play, so I guess I can’t just “mute” trig 7 otherwise it will cut off the sample. I also thought about just having a blank slice there, but again, the sample would get cut off … hmm, maybe more confusing than I thought.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately the fill condition (as far as I can tell) won’t quite work in this circumstance as I already have a 1/2 trig condition on Trig 7, something I stupidly forgot to mention in the OP.
So you want to play slice 3 only with Scene B…
I guess you plocked it to Slice = 3.
You can also use a lfo to create a +2 slice offset, which would make slice 1 and 2 become slice 3 and 4 instead, slice 4 being the continuity of slice 3, played at trig 7. Slice 4 would replace slice 2, and would make sound slice 3 as if it was played entirely…
See what I mean ?
Edit : a +1 one offset is safer, so you can use slices 1 and 3 for scene A, slices 2 and 4 for scene B.
That’s a really interesting idea, I’ll give it a run and see how if it works. I worry that with this ‘continuation’ trigger, the effects will also retrigger, which might not work in the case of delay but I’ll have to get my hands on it.
In the end I’ll probably resort to patterns if this doesn’t work, I just love using the x-fader for these kinds of scene changes.
AFAIK only retriggered fx are Filter (env), and LOFI (AM phase reset if set in LOFI Setup). Fx trigging can be disabled in AMP setup, but I’m not 100% sure it concerns red trigs…
You can use scenes to relatively “mute” specific trigs with AMP VOL, but that’s a different result.
