Trig Conditions locked on Digitakt 2?

Fill and cond tabs are locked how do I unlock them??

Are you holding down the trig of the step to which you want to add the conditional lock? Are you still in the demo project perhaps?

I don’t really know what I’m doing just trying to follow along a YouTube video but my screen has locks on the fill and cond

If you’re in a project that you’ve created, enter the step sequencer by pressing record once after selecting a track which you already have notes or rhythm applied to. The steps with your notes should already be lit up. Hold down one of the glowing trigs and see if you can add a fill condition to that step by turning the corresponding encoder.

If you make no changes to a step that you’re holding down (you can do this to check what’s been locked to that trig) then nothing will happen, it will stay the same. If you do a quick press on a trig, locked or not, it will take that note out of the sequence, the trig will no longer be lit.

So yeah when I hold it down it lets me change the full and cond but when I let go the screen goes back to the locked icon and doesn’t add any fills when I play it back. By the way thanks for responding

It’s because those parameters are only applicable per step. Once you’ve p-locked them you can look at them by holding down the trig and the screen will show what you’ve set that step to

I think I’m missing a step somewhere, after setting different fills for trigs when I press the fill button during play back nothing happens

Ah, maybe what you’re missing is the difference between fill conditions and trig conditions? Fill plays when you hit the fill button, trig conditions work based on things like probability and order of operations so those are not engaged manually in the same way as a fill condition.

So just an example, trig conditions “first” and “not first” (which shows something like 1st with a line over it) are telling the sequencer to either only play that step on the first time through, or to not play that step on the first time through, then it switches after the loop. Percentages tell it to play randomly on the assigned step, but with the probability of hitting based on the percentage you select.

Fill conditions are as I previously described, triggered with the fill button.

Have you tried holding the fill button down rather than just a press?

The fill doesn’t work in rec mode, please disable the rec button!

They’re not locked… it’s just an unhelpful icon which I questioned in testing

The icon represents the potential of a trig condition lock, not that it is locked

To lock you could go to Grid record, hold a trig and rotate the encoder … when the parameter is locked it will be given an inverted background and the actual condition will be visible when you hold the trig down to review

I think they updated that at some point, if you hold func? while pressing fill it works in grid record.

On my DT2 if I go into grid record and press fill (=page) I get ‘sequencer page setup’ , not fill.

They did it with the DT so the 2 should also.
I just tried and if you hold the track button the fill works while in grid record.

Doesn’t seem to be the same on DT2.

So on the DT1, in grid recording, TRK + PAGE gives you fill mode ?

On the DT2, NOT in grid recording, PAGE lights up all 8 leds green to indicate fill mode.

On the DT2, IN grid recording, I can’t make either TRK + PAGE or FUNC + PAGE light up all leds green … I haven’t done a test to hear what it’s doing, so maybe it’s just the display not working.

BUT YES + PAGE will lock fill mode on DT2, even in grid recording mode.

It was something they added late on, seems strange they would make the effort to change it then leave it out on the new machine.
