Transfer not connecting for new OS update

I woke up this morning to install the new OS updates for my Digitakt and Digitone Keys. Opened the Transfer app which detects both devices, but when I click “connect” it fails to connect every time. I have used Transfer in the past (but it’s been a while–the last time might have been the last time there was an OS update for the Keys). I am (unfortunately) running Catalina. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any ideas on what to try for a fix?

Hi.
Do you have the latest version of transfer installed?

You need to turn off Overbridge mode on your DT & DN to be able to connect.

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. With the Transfer App, it fails to connect to the DT and seems to be spinning around. Latest version of Transfer installed, OB turned off on my DT, run on Mojave. Also take any advice for this annoying problem.

I just upgraded and it worked perfecly.

Check if the latest version of transfer is compatible with Mojave. I have Catalina installed.

Double check two things
USB Mode is in midi only
Your Midi Ports in the Port Config menu are set to USB rather than Midi or Midi/USB. this allows full usb bandwith rather than limiting speeds to DIN compatibility.

Transfer is mentioned as being compatible with Mojave. mprieto above seems to have the same concern with Catalina.

Double check done: USB midi mode only and Port Config on USB. Still the same :frowning:

Dang. I’m not running into the issue on mac OS 10.13.6

Okay.

Ssme here… I thought the new OS for Digitakt would solve the issue but sadly it hasn’t. I’ve tried changing from Overbridge mode to USB MIDI and still it won’t connect. Has to be an issue that needs fixing if so many people are having the same problem. I just submitted a ticket. Perhaps we all should so that they can address it quickly.

… as mentioned, probably that you are using an older version of Transfer - this has been explained a lot, these ‘issues’ lots of people are having are almost entirely user error wrt settings or using outdated software

I’m using the most recent version of Transfer. Plus the new OS 1.20

I had to reinstall Transfer before it would work. I was getting the “The version of your device is not supported” type error prior to reinstalling

that

I put in a support ticket. Their response suggested I forgo my USB hub and connect the Digitakt directly to my laptop. That worked for me. So USB config set to USB/MIDI and connecting directly to the computer worked. Hope this helps

Same issue here. Transfer v1.2.2.9 doesn’t connect with my DIgitakt anymore after upgrading the firmware to 1.20.

I’m on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6

and yes, I checked all the ‘secret tips and tricks’ to ‘make it work’…
but nothing

what it’s worse,
the awesome third party app from elk-herd (https://electric.kitchen/crunch/elk-herd/)
it cannot fetch the projects from the digitakt anymore.
it crashes miserably…

I think it’s worthy to downgrade to the older firmware if you are working daily with the digitakt and transferring files backs and forths with the computer…

Cheers

Mine is also not working. I will try removing the connection to the hub, but honestly for $750 I shouldn’t have to do that.

Nope, tried two different hubs, 2 different apple usb-a => usb-c adapters, and one third party adapter.
