Track 8 Delay Control Disabled? How to enable?

Hello everyone,

When I press FUNCTION->DOWN and go to the Time Delay Control, the master track 8 is disabled/X’d out. However in all the tutorial videos I see all 8 faders show up (including Track 8) when they go to Time Delay Control.

All the threads seem to indicate you can turn MASTER TRACK->ON on Track 8, and still access the Time Delay Controls.

However for me, regardless if Track 8 is master or not, when I go to Time Delay Control, the 8th fader is grey’d out / disabled.

How can I enable Track 8 on the Time Delay Control? Is this because I upgraded my Firmware?

Sorry if this seems obvious, but have you checked that there’s a delay sitting in FX slot 2 on track 8?

this is probably it.
I did the same a few years back and OH BOY did I feel dumb when I noticed :stuck_out_tongue:

(I had replaced FX2´s default delay with a compressor in my case)

Yes OK I am an idiot. That was it. Had changed the FX blocks on the Master Track. Didn’t realize it didn’t reset after removing Master Track and then Re-adding it.

I still get very confused as to what get’s saved where.

OK here is another weird question…

When I turn on LOCK in the FX setup of the Delay FX block on the Master Track 8.

I turn on LOCK and suddenly there is no sound coming out of the main outputs to the speakers. However, I still have sound coming out of the headphones…

Also couple other questions:

  1. Why can I not see the TIME parameter change in value when I hit Trigs 1-8 (while holding Trig 16) on the Time Delay Control?

Shouldn’t I be able to see the actual TIME parameter changing?

  1. Why does it show the faders at nearly full volume, i.e., why is the default value number 6? And why am I reducing the value of TIME when I change the Time Delay trig I select? Shouldn’t I be increasing the time delay SEND value so that I hear the effect of the FX delay?

EDIT: the section below is because PASS is set to 0, which completely disables the VOL parameter… very confusing. Unclear why they chose this design, and why it doesn’t show VOL is disabled when PASS is set to 0.

Also correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that if LOCK is set to 1 (enabled) then BOTH of the following happen:

  1. SEND is set to 0 (as stated in the manual)

but it also appears that

  1. VOL is set to 127 (NOT stated in the manual).

You need to set your delay send value to something other than 0. 0 is how you lock the delay buffer. Basically hitting the green buttons in delay control mode are just jumping the value to 0

i would also like to know why the default value for trigs 1-8 is at “Trig 6”???
