They really should. The price was always outrageous anyway.
I still have my TR8 and I was one of the shmucks who was suckered into paying $150 or some crazy price for a couple extra samples.
I know I know , it’s ACB etc.
But still.
Anyway, they really should just give it away at this point.
I haven’t touched my tr8 in years but now I feel like pulling it out and having a little jam.
It’s such a fun and immediate device for performance.
I always loved the side chain input and even the scatter function.
With the faders, mutes, step loop, live play and scatter it so much fun to perform on it like it’s a real instrument.

I want the expansion pack as wel. Previously when I visited this site https://www.roland.com/global/products/rc_7x7-tr8/ it showed “discontinued”
Now it says join now, perhaps they offer the soundpack through a cloud subscription?

shouldve been free when they released the TR8-S, but maybe im just bitter that they released the 8-S 3 months after i bought the 8.

Yep , suprise it just hasn’t been cut loose as an upgrade. But hey that’s capitalism y’all.
The TR8 as others have said is just such a fun jam machine . I have mine running through my analog drive pedal with my MBS2 coming in via the side chain inputs. Can always get some lovely techno loops out of that for resampling or messing with later
The 7x7 pack would be cool but no way would I pay cash for it

I had my tr8 up for sale for £180 with the upgrade. Asking 110 for just the upgrade is scandalous

This is why the second hand TR8 units retain their value. As a buyer I’d like them to issue the upgrade for free. As a seller I’d like them to keep it expensive!

I actually couldn’t shift mine but it has a weird issue with a volume fader. The high tom fader controls the hi tom and the closed hat. Closed hat fader does nothing. Tried reset, cleaning fader, updating etc but nothing
