Too many octaves on my brand new A4!

I literally just unpacked it, and…surprise !
Would you send it back, or keep it ?

I’d ask Elektron to send those two buttons. Should be possible to exchange them without too much work and would have less of a Co2 footprint.

ooops…
return to sender…get a replacement unit…

this would - depending on the sender - mean a few days to weeks to month no unit to play with. Plus the hustle to sending and receiving a big packet. I’d rather use it and exchange two buttons in a few days to weeks…

Definitely. I’ll probably get used to it before Elektron answers my mail !

It’s a rare special edition!!

Looks funny, and easy to get used to it. But keep in mind that if you (ever) want to sell it, the buyer can have problems with it. Maybe more difficult to sell.

Yeah I’m in the market for a used black A4 atm and I’d expect to pay less for one with the wrong buttons. Get new buttons sent out.

The buyer should pay more!!

It’s like the postage stamp with the upside down airplane print. It’ll be worth millions.

On a more serious note, I’d just ask them to send you the button caps. Easier for all parties involved. I know that they’ve done this for others in the past, and you get to keep playing your instrument while you wait.

I’m always curious to know the context in which the mistake was made.

I had two PROJ buttons on an Octatrack. I hit up Elektron and they sent me a replacement button within a few weeks. Popped the old one off with a guitar pick and put the new one on super easily. Definitely no need to send it back.

No more free CBD snacks on the assembly line.

I wish my Octatrack had that many octaves. :frowning:

Seriously, those are some wide range oscillators, and the range really shines with AM and sync. Try modulating an almost subsonic pitch with an almost supersonic one, good times!

I had two LFO buttons on my Digitone when I got it, I was completely off the hook with the only DN with 4 LFO’s!!

Reality: I asked Elektron for a replacement button and got it within a week or so, the buttons are easy to replace yourself.
