Assuming its not the first Saas machine where you buy and load machines, I imagine Toneverk is some kind of multi engine 8 voice hybrid (keyboard optional) polysynth + drum synth with basic sampling, leaving room for an Octatrack MK3 equivalent to do weird and flexible live sampling, crossfading, and full multi tracks eventually. In either case they don’t seem to be rushing them out, it’s a tougher market for instruments for sure, so I’m hoping they’re just taking their time to make a splash despite that trend.

Sounds like this is a software make for several Elektron products. Imagine if this is a SDK for Elektron boxes.
A lot of people expecting a “Flagship” or some kind of expensive and convoluted machine.
But latest trend in Elek’s is to make smaller, cheaper, focused and DAW ready devices. Machines that felt like hardware and also operate as VST’s with OB.

To be honest, after Elektron releasing a DT 2 before they touched the “flagship” line, I am not sure, if there will “ever” be a new big machine.

Tonverk is a really intense name for a budget or under featured product but the trend is definitely portability and I would love to see it. A miniaturized, feature-inclusive (not intentionally hampered) digital Elektron synth would be very cool, like a cycles sized or smaller non-analog syntakt with more engines and other differences. the recent additions of more features to the mid tier boxes should open up what they’re willing to put in budget devices I think

Elektron was at Superbooth showing Digitakt II. They aren’t going to discuss what is in the pipeline when the focus is on what is new. It’s pointless IMO and even disrespectful to ask such questions to the guys there. They will communicate when they have news to share, not to people pestering them at Superbooth looking for an exclusive scoop.

where he asked about a digitone 2, where the answer was “no comment” so it would surely be the same answer.

Saying that the noise from Superbooth is that Digitone II is next is a baseless rumor without any substance. The only thing such a statement achieves is someone else reading it and then parroting it for others to do the same. Then months from now some guy starts complaining about how he heard Digitone II was going to come soon and it’s still not there.
