Its not a prototype. Its coming to a store near you very soon.
What makes you say so? 'Cause I also have this distractive feeling
(link’s just a silly song, no intel there, sorry:)
Octafloot would be the dream
Tonverk x Overbridge. It will be a USB Audiohost and Recording Hub for the Digiseries. Just wait and see.
Developers are human and get bored. They like to design new stuff. Its in their nature. The recent upgrades are the precursor for something monumental. Its been a while since a new form factor product has been released. More than a Feeling
Ok
I am ready.
Hopefully to infinity and beyond
Woody!!!
We are ready now!
Given the development of a complete range of very good quality presets…
Four oscillators may not be a topic to start a hot debate. Vote for incorporation into the new tonewerk.
A preset generated by 2 oscs is different from a preset generated by 4 oscs.
This is a very important factor before purchasing a synth box.
Imo no insert FX for 16 tracks on both DT 2 and DN 2 is insane. 16 tracks is enough to build full tracks on but one global delay and reverb is not. So maybe this is one of those limitations that another device unlocks. Tonverk could maybe allow overbridge without laptop with insert FX for each track?
Thats actually an amazing idea. With the two USB ports it’s got me wondering. That could unlock a lot of potential, like a USB-based mixer dedicated to mixing overbridge-based elektron setups. Making me look at “Audio” in a different way, I was imagining samples/stems.
Yes this makes sense. And based on the proto type image it looks like you could have 3 send fxs/buses
Tonverk is a multi track DigitalHeat.
Two USB ports to get the 16 tracks from DT2 and DN2 and route them freely using the internal buses.
Most likely, you’ll be able to step sequencer parameters on the buses stacked/Modular effects.
…but why would it have a keyboard on it, chord mode, note edit, etc.…if the music is produced somewhere else?
To me it looks much more like an all in one device. Let’s call it a groovebox @Fin25
Probably has some synth/sampler capabilities itself so it’s not just a useless box without also owning a DT/DN.
My guess is to play samples chromatically but it’s a valid question
The Src button makes me think it will be closer to the DT than the DN, and the Sample button pretty much confirms it can sample directly
Remember that on one of the leaked devices the label under SRC was “Instrument”, which seems to indicate that it will have more than just basic sampler functionality.
I put together a quick mockup for the Tonverk’s machine selection screen over the one Blaq did, based on the speculation that it might allow us to install different machines and maybe even have a store for third-party add-ons. (Did this super fast, so it’s a bit rough and not the best UX.)
In my head, it would make sense to have some basic machines out of the box, like a synth engine, drum engine, sampler, and a thru & neighbor machine (OT style). That would be enough to make some cool stuff, but on top of that, you could buy and install new ones—maybe some from retired machines and new ones from Elektron.
And why not open the store to third parties like Fors (I would loveeee Opal machines on a physical device) and even get third-party FX machines… This part might be a bit over the top and doesn’t sound like something Elektron would do, but I can dream…
