Tonverk – Sound Packs & More

I would like one as well, something like a 73 key multi sampled piano with 8 velocity layers and three round robins per layer would be phenomenal on the tonverk. That would be close to vst quality though missing things like sympathetic resonance and pedal sounds etc.

Same with with a rhodes.

That would be over 1700 samples though so I wonder about performance on an elmulti that big.

The largest eldrums and elmultis I’ve tried are only like 300 samples I think.

These are also two things I would really like to get a hold of. I have multisampled my Yamaha RefaceCP, but I had to go with few layers to get the length of note I require. Not being able to set loop points on the TV yet is limiting for stuff like this. I’ve tried using the 3rd party apps to make emulti files, but haven’t gotten one to load in the TV yet.

I assume eventually either I’ll find someone else’s samples or figure this app out. I also hope Elektron will add that ability to make and edit loop points.

I originally planned to release my pack last Wednesday, but Elektron disrupted those plans (fortunately) with the Wavefinder update and its excellent new engine. As a dedicated fan of wavetable synthesis, I couldn’t release a pack without wavetable presets.

So now, one week later — and after many hours of intensive work selecting the best-fitting 36 presets from the original pack and creating 64 new Wavefinder presets — ARCTIC REALM is ready with a total of 100 presets. The focus is clearly on the new Wavefinder engine, while still making use of the multisample engine and, to a smaller extent, the grainer engine.

What’s included?

Punchy 303, EBM, and 80s-inspired basslines, IDM arpeggios, cohesive poly synths, and snappy pluck sounds. At the same time, the pack also offers dense, evolving textures, pads, and keys — melancholic and sometimes surprisingly warm. From cold to warm — from rough and broken to clean and clear, it’s all there.

All 100 presets include mod wheel assignments, with responses ranging from very subtle modulation to drastic changes in timbre, depending on the sound.

The pack features a wide range of handcrafted custom wavetables (128 total) — from classic digital and analog sources (Moog, Prophet, SQ80-converted raw waveforms such as sine, saw, pulse, and triangle) to more experimental material, including NASA radio wave data (Sun, Mars, Jupiter) converted into wavetables, as well as organic sources like water drops, singing ice, and more.

I’m aware that the intro is quite long for a YouTube video, but for this pack it felt right to build the atmosphere slowly. It’s not something to just skim through — it’s more about the feeling. You can find individual sound examples from 01:15 (headphones recommended). Tonverk only, no external FX.

There’s also a small forum discount available here:

the problem I am finding with these preset packs (fine though they are) is that when you demo a sound, and its a multi sample, it loads it into your project ram. and for the life of me I cannot find how to remove them afterwards. when I look in my sample banks folder it only shows me a sample that is loaded onto one of my single player tracks. the sample bank menu doesn’t show me the multi samples.

any thoughts on how to manage this? I have some nice track ideas and I am wanting to essentially demo the preset sounds on top.

I am trying to keep the project ram lean for a gig next month so I can load projects quickly.

There are at least some unload options on the new storage menu.

best idea so far is to load a mix of the track into another project and demo sounds in there and save a favourites list for that track

Yeah, I’ve noticed something related, although not exactly the same issue.

I still have projects where I deleted multisamples a while ago, and the Tonverk keeps telling me that a large number of samples are missing every time I start it. Which is technically true, but it’s strange that it still shows up even weeks later. A proper “project cache clear” function would really help here.

The Tonverk needs multisamples to be loaded into project memory. It’s not really designed like some other samplers that stream everything directly from the SD card.

So yeah — I think what you’re experiencing is just a limitation of how the system currently works.

I really like your sample packs!
Thank you for the work,
I would love to have drumkits from the mfb tanzbär for the Tonverk. Like you did in your latest pack.
That would be awesome!!!

Thanks guys, means so much to me! With each release I’m continuing to add TV kits, it’s such a unique device and deserves the attention.

Currently finishing off recording 16 multisample Nord Drum 2 kits - eight drums and eight tuned instruments - for the Tonverk. Rather than round-robins, each voice has eight layers of velocity so you get that lovely response the Nord Drum series is famous for.

That would be super cool, leave it with me. :sunglasses:

Subscribing! Cant wait for your TR1k X0X and ND2 kits - very happy to buy when theyre out. Love your approach (random round robin for X0X, velocity for ND2).

How does this look in terms of file structure - is each kit just 1 wav file (chain) + 1 eldrum file, or are all of the 56 samples separate wavs, or one wav per inst…? I’m still a bit confused about TV multis and read that single wav file sample chains are possible depending on how the eldrum/elmulti is constructed. Just wondering how many slots each kit will take up when loaded into the Tonverk.

Also: THANKS! I own a TR8s and ND2 but since i’m currently renovating our studio, I have neither the time nor the access to my own gear to make my own multis… I do have a TV and a few hours each week, which is why I really value the well crafted sound packs and tools as I can just get up and running.

So for me it’s separate wavs - each subtrack hosts those wavs and I set the trigger logic. In the case of round robins it’s random selection with each trigger, haven’t tried it yet with velocity layers, hoping I figure it out!

Not sure i understand - if you load in one of your 606 kits, do all 56 wavs show up in the project sample pool, or just 7 wavs (e.g. a single wav containing 8 slices, per each of your 7 voices on the 606?)

context, slightly OT

I’m very curious about sample pool efficiency - TV’s native autosampler efficiently creates single WAV file sample chains, and the elmulti/eldrum files point to offsets within the chain. It seems like most user created tools havent cracked this kind of optimization yet, but i’m not fully clear - MESET apparently does do some kind of sample chain concatenation though I havent tried it yet.

Use case - a ‘master project’ containing LOTS of lovely kits like yours, without a huge bulky crowded sample pool. Ideally the 8 random round robin hits of, lets say, a 909 SD are 1 file not 8, or all 56 in the kit are 1 file (not sure that works though.)

MESET: Multisample Engine Slice Editor for Tonverk (webapp)

thanks in advance!

Hmmm… I think it’s individual wavs but I currently don’t have a TV so can’t personally confirm.

I’d rather it was chains with slice data and if there’s a way to do it that way I’d like to know.

EDIT: I was causing extra work for myself and stuffing Tonverks with unnecessary files. You absolutely can use sample chains for this. Allow me some time and I will amend the existing kits!

EDIT EDIT: It’s a bit more complicated than I thought, particularly for these ‘one type of sound per key, eight velocity layers per key’ drum sounds I’m attempting to put together!

I bought the pack a couple of days ago and it’s FANTASTIC stuff! I’m really enjoying it, both the kits and the individual samples, they’re lovely. Great work!

Good evening,

The TV arrived this afternoon and I’m loading her up with some Verve goodness.

Got time tomorrow to add more multisamples and maybe some Subtrack kits.
The delayed gratification as the sampler goes to work on this soft piano is

Just need to know how to use it and as it’s my first Elektron instrument (oh dear… did I order the Digitone II, Digitakt II and a 2nd hand Analog Heat II… yes I dd!

Hi all,

Had anyone been able to find a quality rhodes multisample for the tonverk?

cheers

not sure if it matches your needs but here’s one i made – folder ep suitcase. feel free to use the others as well ofc)

I’m looking for wavefinder instruments for tonverk. I’m not good enough to create it by myself… I often modify/customize/tweak existing presets
Someone want to share or sell packs?
