That’s actually not what I said at all, but yes that would be an improvement over the current state.
What I quoted isn’t what you said ?
A slightly bigger square would be at least 1 pixel more…isn’t it ?
I said I would like them to get rid of the 16 squares and replace it with a counter and (maybe, idk, I’m spitballing) a single larger blinking square.
The sixteen page squares are microscopic and I find that staring at those really sucks compared to the old LEDs. Just tell me I’m on page 5/8 or whatever.
Elektron said they were working on it, so we have chances to have something (much) better !
usb c plug-in add-on box with 8 red led lights lmao

I’m kinda surprised so many people seem to be getting lost in their own songs without LEDs or blinking pixels to tell them what’s going on. Is this more of a problem with techno or other monotonous and repetitive music, where each bar kinda sounds the same anyway? That’s a genuine question, no offense, I’m just trying to understand the problem as I never feel the need to even look at the page indicators.
I just use one screen, and either speed it up or slow it down to fit all the notes in. I get annoyed as soon as I have multiple screens to navigate.
totally agree , even more when you look at the octaves new minileds on the keyboard they could have fitted 16 elsewhere. what’s even worse is the pages is covered by the popup banner every time you turn an encoder.
Love the TV but also don’t love the missing page leds. Feels like an encheapening - a step backwards.
Suspect this must derive from deciding on the new form factor, and then consequently feeling that there wasn’t enough room for the 16 LEDs alongside everything else.
Maybe not always grooves are obvious… or you are in odd mesures in some tracks… maybe no drums at all… some times long pads/chords with arps and lots of fx that it doesn’t be clear where the beat is…
Not so sure - 8 leds would be enough and the cluster of buttons YES, NO, FILL etc could have been lower down and there then would have been as much room as on the Digi 2s. Or, there could be a single row.
Is this known bug if 1.3.1? Sometimes the samples are not loading. So when I switch the TV on, the project loads but there is no sound and no samples are assigned. If I reload the project by tuning the tv off the project file loads fine and plays as it should be.
It would need 16 Page LEDs. Not very useful.
Did you install 1.3.1 ?
?
Yes it’s on 1.3.1 as I said.
Next sentence had a typo. Should read „reload“ instead of „really“
Not clear to me ! ![]()
What type of tracks / machines ?
Assignments OK after reboot ?
Some of these problems have been adressed, with 1.3.1, but apparently not all of them.
I’d suggest to do a SAVE DIAGNOSTICS in SYSTEM menu and report to Elektron support.
I mean, could be? Dance music can feel “out of focus” if buildups, transitions, etc. don’t rhythmically happen when one expects. Looking at the page indicators can be helpful in keeping the flow going.
They also show you the speed of the active track. If a track is set to half speed, for example, the LEDs blink slower. It can be helpful in timing things in relation to that particular track.
I sing into my Octatrack, often using a Pickup machine running at half speed, and the page LEDs for that track show me when the recorder will activate after I have armed it.
Also helps when working with more complicated polymetres. You can see where the “one” is for each chosen track and then count from there.
But I do admit that since the indicators are relatively hard to read on the Tonverk and often covered by banners showing something else entirely, I also end up composing in a different way, with maybe less rigid rhythmic structures.
This is all very well said, but someone shouldn’t have to explain to anyone why LED indicators are useful, I don’t think. They just are for a lot of reasons…and I don’t do any sort of dance music. There have been some great suggestions on how to make them more visible and I hope that happens. In the meantime, I have crappy eyesight and play gigs once a week minimum and have just gotten used to the smaller LED’s. I don’t really struggle to see where I’m at, but it would be sweet if they were bigger ![]()
Speaking of gigs, I did one last night and prepped for it on Monday after updating to 1.3.1. Could be my imagination, but the TV feels a bit snappier to me. A lot less of the little quirks like values appearing on the screen and jumping around for no reason during a performance.
