The new reverb is top notch imho. Exactly what I was hoping for. A spring/plate style reverb. And more, so it turns out, because it is really flexible. Especially on a bus with p locks. I love to do p locks on a 13 step grid, while the loop is 128 steps long, keeps it interesting. Will definitely be my most used reverb.
Thanks for letting us know. Your interest will be sorely missed.
100% with you on this. I was thinking exactly the same while watching Mario’s latest dispatch. But it’s early days so I try to be indulgent with myself about that ![]()
I think the same applies to most things, or working in a DAW.
Generally, for me, it comes from focusing on the equipment rather than the music. What’s musically useful might be deadly simple. Whereas if you’re there thinking about features, you might overdo things.
Both ways have their merit tho, I often take a few simple tools and try to push them in as many ways I can think of.
If you could’ve choose one of them, which one would it be?
TV for sure!
Love the new fx! The reverb sounds awesome and the filter folder is super useful and of course sounds great. This device is really kicking ass now for sound exploration.
One minor nit is I think I’d find “loop length” easier to work with than “loop end”, so you scan the loop through a sample without needing to also change loop end. Though I guess both have advantages. Could be a nice option in the extended Src settings?
One of my favorite things with the Rytm is similar, just run usb audio in and I load up a rap accapella or a favorite movie on youtube and just jam around, eventually something will catch my ear, rewind a bit, catch the sample and keep going.
TV is the more well rounded/ feature rich instrument of the 2, and a much easier choice imo. The S-4 is class though and pairs beautifully with the TV. Specifically speaking though the TV is much more a sit and meticulously craft and shape a beat, S-4 is much more of a players instrument, great UX gives it a more tactile and responsive feel but there’s deffo moments where you’re in control and suddenly you swap roles to a point the S-4 takes over control. It’s great for that but you have to play it and tame it much more than the TV
I was just messing around with this—unfortunately, reverb isn’t an option for the audio track’s FX slots. It’d be great if we could somehow do this in an update—maybe, an option to route bus FX pre instead of post.
whoopps I corrected my post above. What I meant to say was to use „Buses instead of Sends“.
I like the reverb tail to be gated as well—that why I suggested the ability to route bus FX before the amp/shaper instead of after.
it’d be nice to be able to p-lock that routing (if possible).
[edited as I made a mistake - not near my verk as I’m moving house atm]
… but the Bus FX is before Amp/Shaper …
I’ll have to check again later. It wasn’t sounding like the reverb was getting gated when I briefly messed around with it last night.
You’re right–I was mistaken.
Happy Gating ![]()
Any news if it wIll support Overbridge?
If you haven’t followed the botched launch and all the criticism afterwards too much - like me -then starting fresh from 1.2 is really a great experience.
First go yesterday and did not run into anything rage inducing all those hours. Elektron has a great reputation re. updating their gear, so things will get even better. 🫶🏻
Less entitled, more constructive
more of the latter would make the vibe on the forum improve immensely and it still communicates more or less the same thing.
I definitely miss the velocity and key track mod matrices as well. Would be interesting to learn why they were initially omitted. There’s probably a good reason. Also cannot imagine these will not be added in a future update. But let’s see.
