I also received this response when I spoke to tech support. They also told me they hope to have some kind of pattern management system in the future. Everything is still up in the air, and I have two days left until the Tonverk return deadline expires. I’m fine with everything else, but I need to be able to copy patterns between projects, even if it’s just the sequences.
11 ms latency is still not great — probably suggests that future machines built on the same platform won’t see much improvement on this end. Could be a Linux issue.
Also, not too excited about the limited number of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements in this update.
@Elektron A small roadmap tease would be really nice — especially before the return window closes for me and several others.
@Dfernandez I was really surprised by this support response, because it’s a minimal function for managing patterns that all Elektrons have back to the Octatrack. If I’m not mistaken? Somehow, I assumed that with DT2 and DN2, pattern management had finally reached the next level, because every pattern could also be saved as a kit. I can wait for the feature, but I can’t do without it.
And it’s something the manual doesn’t deny. Considering that all modern Elektron devices have this feature, it’s normal to think that Tonverk would also incorporate it. If I had known it didn’t, I wouldn’t have bought it yet. And I’m seriously thinking it’ll be returned tomorrow.
@Dfernandez I believe Elektron won’t let us down. Believing, but not knowing, makes TV even more like a religious experience:)
Where are you getting that? Did you update and measure? Just asking because it’s the first time I’ve seen this number
Oh damn, my bad, totally missed that before I replied! Thanks ![]()
Hey can you say what your setup was in this measurement? What exactly are we seeing here?
This is just an assumption, they might split bug fixing / feature work, who knows.
It doesn’t matter really, they released it prematurely for sure but are updating it, new features will come. I don’t think there should be anything to worry about, if this is actually a worry, then life is good ha.
I’m looking forward to getting one next year still, there’s teething issues but it still looks really interesting. post NGNY tho of course.
We see a latency of approximately 10 ms.
Digitakt 2 as master → DIN Midi Tonverk as slave.
Both devices play the same sound at 130 bpm. DT above, TV below.
Analog recording.

At first, I thought this slogan was cool. Now I understand that this means bug fixing in small doses.
Joking aside: After waiting a month, I would have expected a much longer list of fixed bugs. At the very least, I would have expected the MIDI issue for DIN and USB to have been fixed.
you have no idea how difficult this bug was to release tho.
they also promised this one at the end of the month, so I’d reckon others are being worked on towards being a release candidate.
Yeah, I’m hoping “coming in a new OS” for the USB MIDI fix means a proper new release with filled out UI elements and all the quality of life stuff that’s missing.
I can’t help but think the mods should have closed this thread for information only.
Do they realise how many philosophers are amongst the elektronauts?
I’d say 1000 posts before 1.05 comes out. ![]()
Gee the negativity in this thread is rather improper …
I understand the frustration to a degree, but all this talk of the unit being unusable, going to return it etc … is overly dramatic isn’t it ?
I applaud Elektron to have brought this out with such incredible sound and FX (must have taken incredible amount time to get right
Its arguably the best sounding digital sampler ever created ![]()
If you have one; be grateful to have an instrument on this level.
It has ruin the MPC and most other new sampler release for me (makes them all sound artificial / one dimensional ITB like…
If a year ago the vibe at Elektron R&A meeting for Tv was:
A: So team do we put this out bare bones but solid on the basics
or
B: fix the Jitter later and bring it out with fireworks in sonic display …
Team meeting conclusions:
we are not an accounting company ![]()
Happy with the update! Now I can finally Multisample my Model:Cycles-sounds and Digitakt2 Factory-oscilators. With the previous version, it wasn’t stable enough. Now it works fine!
To anyone being afraid of returns window closing: have you asked your retailer to extend it yet? I did so, describing that several features that are core to the device aren’t working properly yet, that Elektron has promised updates but it’s been a bit unclear when and to what extent they will fix the issues. And mentioned that I’d really like to keep the TV if only the bugs are fixed. I got an extension till mid December, which makes it a lot easier to just wait and see what Elektron will deliver over the next weeks. I understand why people are frustrated, but your retailer might understand.
Yup the mind boggles. Pretty standard/expected stuff.
If it helps, you can rename the .emulti and folder it’s in after recording a multisample. It’s annoying but might get you slightly organized. I’ve been plugging in my iPhone, enabling USB disk mode and renaming those files in Files as I’ve sampled quite a few pads etc recently and the auto naming was driving me mad.
Pretty sure you’ll mess up a project if you do that if one of them is in use in a pattern though.
(Edit: you don’t have to rename the folder, you can just rename the .emulti)
Renaming the .elmulti won’t work on its own. You’d also have to rename the .wav - and edit the elmulti to replace every instance of the random name. There will be one instance of the name for every note sampled and velocity layer.
I think doing the above might work, but for me that’s just too much work. I suppose you could use a find/replace to make it easier.
However, without looping and with latency issues still apparently being unfixed for usb sampling, I feel like whatever I do now I’ll be doing again when it’s finally fixed and hopefully made more usable.
