Lol, now I‘m even more confused
. It’s probably easiest to just dive in and explore what it means.
You have now more options to “shape” the sound on Buses and Sends with Amp Envelopes and EQ (Filter) [and it’s da bomb].
They gave it a name: SHAPE. But you can ignore that it has a name and just use it
But it is one of the ultra killer new features for me.
[Example for using this: Drown a track in reverb (via buses, not sends) and then “trance gate” it on a Bus with the Bus’ [Shape’s] Amp Envelope.]
You can also do high pass filter stuff on everything in the bus with the built in filter now, for like that classic techno transition.
I wonder how we could do time streching with grainer?
They show an example in the official video, around 20 min.
Got it, thank you, I’ll try this on drumloops
Expected a polyphonic sampler, got a polyphonic sampling modular rig with every unit I didn’t know I wanted. Considerably Victorious.
Sounds like one of the automatically generated project names.
I can’t see how to do this
I’ve been called worse.
Beware timestretch effect doesn’t match tempo automatically.
Better if tempo match loop to test it.
OSC mode, SCAN 1.00
Short SIZE, high DENS.
AMNT around 4.
Beware, SIZE and DENS interact with SCAN. Try different settings for sweet spots.
Very interesting to modulate speed and pitch with yellow trigs and probability.
“back in the day” we timestretched tempo synced by ear. Can still be done today.
Grainer + arp is nuts
Yep. Just a warning. It is not like Octatrack’s timestretch that automatically match tempo.
On a bus, go to the filter page. There’s a shelving filter now. Set the points you want and you can fade in/out everything that’s routed through the bus, or parameter lock it to a fill even.
Just had a bit of a play with the update… BONKERS. Very glad I kept the Tonverk now! Well done Elektron you nailed this. I’m not sure I even want to open my DAW anymore (except to sample of course)…
Thanks, that’s excellent news!
Just saying I’m glad Elektron broke into granular at last. Been calling this for years and met by naysayers on the forum… looking forward to trying this now that its come to pass ![]()
This is a big step forward
Congrats on a nice update Elektron, imagine if it launched in this state and was still out before Christmas? Really hoping they attend to the rhythm side of things- sample chopping and time stretching, maybe more FX and some additional LFO options and some QoL housekeeping. This update made it a lot easier to be patient but this box is a future classic. Was really worried about it being built on a layer of Linux or whatever, not coded right to the hardware but Inthink it’ll be better in the long run.
