Tonverk OS Upgrades & Updates

From where I live, it’s often around 12 to 1 pm, so, in 2 or 3 hours.

Hahaha, nice find

It’s up on the support page! Granular machine

Good work

Improvements

Added a new granular SRC machine (Grainer).

Added a new Shape SRC machine for Bus and Send FX tracks.

Added Undo/Redo functionality for paste/clear operations of patterns and track sequences.

It is now possible to preview trigs and notes in GRID RECORDING mode by pressing [TRIG] or [KEYBOARD] + [YES].

The side chain source parameter is now available on the Compressor FX machine on Bus tracks.

It’s now possible to load samples in M4A, CAF, and FLAC file formats.

A POST FX PAN parameter is now added to the FX SETUP MENU for the Audio, Bus, and Send FX tracks.

Added a memory usage entry in file menu.

Improved the sample browser’s look and feel.

Added snap values to the Multi-mode filter’s FREQ and RESO parameters.

The Multi-mode filter’s FREQ and RESO parameters are now high-resolution when placed as a FX machine on Bus or Mix tracks.

Clarified that the LFO destinations in the modulation destination list refer to LFO1.

Added the possibility to name multi-sampled instrument during the auto-sampling process.

Improved several of FX machines’ default value settings.

Changed the default retrig value from 1/4 to 1/32.

Minor improvements to the screen UI and LED indications.

General performance and stability improvements.

Bug fixes

USB MIDI input and output had timing problems (jitter).

The MIDI SRC machine’s CC selection parameter responded too slowly when adjusted.

Trigs and sequences copied and pasted between subtracks could misplace parameter locks.

The cursor could move past the character limit on the NAMING screen.

Using the recall function or disabling PERFORM mode could reset settings in the MIDI CONFIG menu.

The arpeggiator could play chord notes in the wrong order when retriggered.

The RECEIVE CC setting was disabled by default.

The device did not handle NRPN data.

A number of CC mappings were incorrect.

It was not possible to create a new project from the PROJECT menu if the active project had been corrupted.

The device could become unresponsive when saving a project, showing a “Wait” pop-up.

Notes played manually could disappear if SWING was set very high and the sequencer was running.

Clearing a trig with parameter locks on a Subtracks machine’s supertrack did not actually remove the parameter locks.

Trigs placed on a subtrack could sometimes be displayed on the supertrack.

Changing the track SCALE settings could sometimes cause unpredictable behavior.

It was possible to parameter lock the MIDI machine’s CHAN setting, even though it had no effect.

Copying and pasting a pattern could sometimes cause the device to become unresponsive.

Retriggered notes could sometimes fail to play.

Loading a project with a lot of sequencer data could cause the device to become unresponsive.

Settings made in the Chrono Pitch FX machine were not saved together with the preset.

It was possible to nudge the tempo even if the device was synced to an external MIDI clock.

Muted subtracks affected mute-mode LEDs after switching to a non-Subtracks machine on the same track.

Projects with a large number of parameter locks could lose those locks and sometimes other data when saving the project.

USB DISK mode could be entered while auto-sampling was in progress.

Copying and pasting empty parameter pages on a supertrack caused the unit to become unresponsive.

When loading multiple samples in the Sample browser, they were randomly assigned to the sample slots rather than in alphabetical order.

The sample playhead was difficult to see on dense sample waveforms on the SRC page.

The LEN indicator could be pushed out of view on the Subtracks machine’s SRC page.

Now I know what to get…

One cool thing to see, now that we can check the project memory, is that the factory project is pretty much the worst case scenario for load times as it is using 97% of the memory. You can go to that page now and watch the percentage climb up instead of the little spinny icon :stuck_out_tongue:

Big ups @Elektron

There is a ton of controls for this grainer, so damn exciting! Okay I’m going to stop spamming now.

This is why I bought the Tonverk! Love it.

So Tonverk can now do the Tasty Chips GR1 thing? This is exactly what I was hoping for.

It’s basically also a secret wavetable mode, cause grainer has an oscilator mode and with the scan controls you can have it scan through your wavetables, tons of options. I said I’d shut up but this is honestly massive XD

Just did a quick check and loading samples into sub-tracks now lets you stay in the folder, and you can select multiple tracks to load into while you’re there. (Rather than one at a time.) Hoping using MIDI over USB is in better shape.

Obviously there’s a lot to get into here but it’s looking like a significant and excellent update. The grain machine seems to be fantastic.

So still nothing done about the mutes. Can some of you other users please make more than one pattern, mute some stuff, then switch pattern. Then you might realise how crippled the machine currently is. But yeah it’s got granular YAY… still can’t use it to play live though BOOOOO

Couldn’t you just set up volume defaults across patterns? Not as convenient, but a workaround.
