Tonverk Bugginess? Or Syntakt?

Dude, toys are great… but they’re still toys.

To be fair, though, the key to what I said was I ignored them, so my judgement shouldn’t be taken as authoritative. Mostly I dismissed the Digitakt 1 due to having an Octatrack, and Digitone 1 due to owning a TX81z, and I widely view grooveboxes with only a stereo out as toys given the need for separation in professional recording (but Overbridge helps here).

Don’t assume I think my dismissal was correct.

I realize that because this would be a first Elektron device, many people are advocating for something that is pretty easy. That’s probably a good strategy but I don’t mind a learning curve if I think it will yield interesting results.

The part of Tonverk that is intriguing is the polyphony, possibility of multisampling, some of the surfaced physical controls, and the extensive fx routing.

The part of Syntakt that is interesting to me is the ability to shape the synth sounds (the immediacy of that vs sample management) as well as the newly introduced sample playback features that would appear to make it more versatile in its colors.

The part of the Tonverk I have questions about center more around bugs and, as one person mentioned above, more friction in operation.

The part of the Syntakt that I have questions about are the limitations of the sounds available and the fact that in general I have responded more to the samples I’ve heard from people exploring the Tonverk than the Syntakt (though I admit this is nowhere near a thorough investigation - only so many videos one can consume in a day).
