Tips on input and output routing vs. configuring machines on the 8 tracks

Hi there everybody,

Could use some expert advise on configuring my octatrack for the following:

  • I use my octatrack at the end from my hardware chain (instruments–> mixer → octatrack → recorder)
  • Would like to audio input the octratrack as follows: A–> Kick, B–> Bass, C+D: Stereo sounds
  • Main purpose: recording these 4 tracks individually for later sidechaining (primaraly Kick vs Bass)
  • Tried different setups, but the best mixes/jams end up via the octatrack in the setup/chain above

Could you give me some advice how to set up the inputs with the 8 tracks on the OT vs inputs ABCD (thru and neighbor I guess?) and how the configure the output routing to these 4 channels so they could send out 4 clean sounds (1. Mono Bass, 1. Mono Kick and 1. Stereo rest of sounds)? Is this possible you think?

These 4 outs I would like to record individually for later mixing and mastering.

Thank you in advance for some advice and help!

T1 Thru for kick A - BAL left
T2 Neighbor
T3 Thru for bass B - BAL right
T4 Neighbor
T5 Thru for stereo CD
T6 Neighbor - CUE only routing
