I just found out a very useful workflow for batch processing of audio files (slicing to bpm, autoslicing, microfade-in/out, sorting of files, moving files to folders depending on keywords, …), maybe it’s useful for someone else too.
Instead of using a batch processor inside an audio editor, just use an audio editor and mouse or other macros.
Autoit Macro Editor: https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/
Simple audio editor with slicing capabilities: http://www.wavosaur.com
Just type in the coordinates where you want the program to click at (Tools - Slice, File - Export Regions, Close, …), set it to full speed, open a folder of audio files in Wavosaur (up to ~200) and get a coffee while the job is being done.
I just edited 2000+ audio files, which I previously chopped out of loops and then put them together with the great little OctaChainer tool from this forum.
The great thing of this macro workflow compared to usual batch processing is that you have much more customization options, because you can basically choose from any options on the screen, not just from some default batch settings.
And it’s free.
Btw I also found a nice workaround to play slices on the OT via MIDI: Chop a stack of 64 audio files, save all first slices in one file for first slices, all second slices in a file for second slices and assign the first file to the first track, the second to the second track. So whenever you trig track 1, you trig a first slice etc. The OT just has 8 tracks, but you can get quite a lot of mileage out of these tracks because you got 64 “pages” on those 8 tracks, for each Kit/Part!
It’s like a revelation. My MPD32-based setup just reached the next level.
