Timing issue with sample chains (even grid)

Hey,

I have an issue when using sample chains. I’ve created chains via Digichain (amazing utility!) but when i load the chains in and setup a loop im getting inconsistencies in timing.

It will run fine for 1 or 2 bars and then you can hear it play off time.

i’ve added an example below.

Anyone help with this?

I think that Brian would probably be able to answer this question if you ask in the Digichain thread.

Are you making loops out of sample chains? I’m confused. :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re all the original samples in 48k , 16bit uncompressed ? Basically reducing any sort of conversion between mac/pc and digitakt .

And , have you tried to do the same without using sample chains ? It’s possible , just have to do a little bit more manual work when setting up sample / triggering and sequence

It’s good to remember that both the DT slice and DTII grid machines split into “similarly sized segments”,

You can try using the “fade in”/“fade out” selected actions, this adds a very small fade to zero which can help with the DT’s decision on where to put a slice marker.

The grid exists irrespective of tempo, is my understanding. So, ultimately, it’s the length of your sample chain and the grid you select which determines slice length, not the project tempo itself, vis a vis the total length of the chain itself divided by the grid determines the slice length. Yes?

You’d have to pitch the sample to get it in tempo if the sample tempo differs from the patterns.
