Can you lot stop posting in this thread.
Everytime I read ‘time tosser’ I either spit tea where or laugh so hard a little bit of wee comes out.
I have mine up for sale, if anyone’s interested. ![]()
I’d be all over this thing if it could allow additional divisions… up to 1/64 or 1/128 divisions.
1/4th to 1/16th are fine for normal dance oriented rhythms. But, it would be awesome to take a continuous live signal and sometimes micro-loop it on certain steps of the sequence to achieve almost granular results.
The Korg Drumlogue has a loop setting which has many similarities to what the Timetosser does… except that it only does these things to the internal sequencer/pattern. Unfortunately, outside of reverb and delay, the Drumlogue doesn’t do much processing of external signals.
The Polyend Mess can process external signals and do per-step manipulation for up to 16 steps, continuously to an incoming signal. I know it has a host of different effects… but I’m not sure if it has any setting that would be an equivalent to what the Timetosser does.
So far, the Alter Audio Timetosser seems pretty unique. I’d like to see more boxes that process external signals in more rhythmic ways!
a great feature request
You can do additional divisions other than 16th notes, if you have it synced to midi and tap a subdivision within a beat , it will then divide the time according to that. It’s kind of hard to explain in words but easy to do in practice.
