Timeline Midi Clock

Hello Nauts,

When using my Strymon Timeline with my Elektrons, it’s great to synch the midi clock to the pedal and get delays in time.
But it’s also great to be able to switch this off easily and enjoy some unsynched delay weirdness.
I can’t find an obvious way to do this, short of switching off the clock signal from my Machinedrum.

Anyone?

Hi

I have a TimeLine, but haven’t tried to achieve this and my studio is down at the moment with a dead sound interface…

Had a look at the TimeLine manual. I see there’s some possibilities worth exploring, do you have computer in the mix too?

Sending Midi CC #3 will adjust the time
Sending Midi CC#21 will adjust the Tap division
Sending Midi CC #81 will adjust the TimeLine Tap footswitch value

You can also attach an external Tap switch via the Exp pedal input. Midi CC#93 looks like it will activate it, or can be set in the TimeLine’s global menu.(Exp Md > Tap) and synced back to Midi clock with global menu ( MC RST > On)

My new sound interface turns up this week, so I’ll give this a go next weekend. Let me know how you get on

pS when I ordered my TimeLine it turned up late. Typical for a delay pedal?

Cheers, I’ll have a look at the Tap settings.

Either way, it appears that a quick click option isn’t on offer (as with switching off the Machinedrum midi clock signal).

I’m on a computer-less set up, Mono/MD and 2 Strymons. Lovely
