This corpse is dead

I just read up about Tom’s in Attack Magazine’s electronic dance book! The recommend doing exactly this.

That’s really cool. It seems kind of similar to another classic cult film Atom Age Vampire that I sampled years ago for an album that never seemed to get released… I should dig it out. But yeah, I really love the old B-movies…

Anyway, it seems a lot of people are suggesting beats and samples… I might see about pulling together a chord progression or melody just for some variety. @BLKrbbt - when are you hoping to have the samples pulled together by?

My name is Matthew and I like long walks, 90’s sitcoms, and the way rows of corn look when you drive by really fast. Here’s my sample of a fugue in Cm.

SAME!
Great sounding element too.

I like the 80s sounds but I also like to mangle them and transform into something different…

A bass loop in Cm 120BPM.

Ok, found a sample at last. Ages ago I asked my sister-in-law to record some of her harp but I never got anything proper going with the sounds she sent. Here is one in D minor:

Scrolling right back up to the top of the thread I realised that I’d posted the name of my sample but not a link so here it is to fulfil my obligations…
I would like to tear out the drums from Cissy Strut and see what can be derived from them…

We could go now, but I want to wait a couple days to see if anymore submissions come in.

I know @aarb420 talked of putting up a sound!

Perfect because I get back into town in a couple of days.

@BLKrbbt and @everyone My bad guys thought I posted a few days ago, but left the reply on draft :older_man:

Stumbled upon this one while looking for Armenian disco samples, and was surprised to hear this because our own mini community is probably unaware of it’s existence. Hope it finds fellow challengers well! :beers:

This may have some elements that we can also take too and we can pay homage to the og Bernie Mac

Also, I have a deep fascination with Salma Hayek’s acting technique, sometimes I like to check the fridge and deny myself the pleasure of overeating, and I’ve been playing lots of uno lately with my neice/nephew, so I’ve got the numbers game down to a science. :sloth:

That’s such a massive set! That man shaped a lot of my childhood :slightly_smiling_face: I used to over watch the Kings of Comedy show they did and his part always used to stand out haha

@1-2 (sound submitted)

Sorry folks, I was gonna post my stuff over the weekend but then I had a wisdom tooth emergency, and when I got back from the dentist I’d found that in my pain and distraction I’d let Digitakt’s Firmware 1.3’s Temp Memory Bug devour all but one of the patterns I’d been working on for y’all!

What a crap way to end a long weekend.

So what I’m submitting instead is me playing guitar for 40 or so minutes over the one remaining pattern that didn’t get ate while I waited for the codiene to kick in:

Duppy’s Surfy Spy Spaghetti Dental Distraction (no drums)

Helpful details:

  • It’s like 40 minutes of lots of different little snippets of song ideas and chord arrangements, mostly playing around Am or Bm—skip around to find different things to grab & use. Towards the end it gets kind of repetitive (Just Say No to drugs, kids).

  • BPM for most of it is 93.4 but there are some faster bits that are more in the 100-101 range.

  • Here is what it sounds like with the backing drum/bass track,
for all your beat-matching and contextual needs.

  • LEFT CHANNEL is a Fender Jaguar --> MXR Carbon Copy --> Traynor 40-watt tube amp,
    close-miced with a Sennheiser MD421, with EQing.

  • RIGHT CHANNEL is the same, but with a CAD Equitek E200 placed further back in the room for atmosphere, also EQed.

  • It is extremely humid in the northeast so staying in tune was a pain. I tried my best, honest.

  • I can also send anyone the guitar DI (pre-delay pedal), if they want it.

Sorry again for the delay!
