i enjoy watching season 2, but it is objectively godawful. i actually didnt realize other people hated it as much as i do. the dialogue alone is so unbearable because they are trying to emulate the existential ramblings of rust in s1, which is the best piece of television ever made. but yeah its fun to watch. i just wish fukagana, pizzolatto, mcconaughey, and harrelson were involved in the same capacity throughout the series. it was the perfect culmination of talents and creative choices. pretty rare
plus, i really like the concept of this one. it carries on the theme of elite sex trafficking and extends it to hollywood, which is something i think more people should care about. but i was also not a fan of s3 at all. i think 2 is much better than 3. thats like an entirely different show to me

oh yeah, another thing i cant stand is the intro theme to season 2. but youre right about lera lynn. “least favorite life” gets stuck in my head for very long periods of time. plus they continued to put the nick cave/warren ellis songs in the ost, which rules.

Everybody around me so hated True Detective Season 2 that I even didn’t watch it. However, these days I mostly don’t watch things everybody is too much enthusiastic… So maybe I should watch TD S2 after all.
When I first watched S2 I didn’t like it…
I was comparing to S1 I think, probably like most people. But as has already been said, S1 was outstanding TV, creative peaks for many of those involved.
When I rewatched s2 I loved it… it’s great TV, just not a patch on the first series, but not many things are IMO.
Maybe not being violently dissed but been hated on:
The beautiful keys (touch) on the Micro Freak. If it wasn’t for the keys I wouldn’t have bought it.
Maybe not here but I’ve seen the touch keys getting dissed on other places.
Actually the design of the OG micro freak could be like the top 25 instrument ever made, as far as looks. 
Oh and Use Your Illusions II was better than I.
Especially J Mascis solo’s 
I’m not sure if it’s violently dissed, but I keep finding myself having (enjoying) a film argument.
The Batman is much better than The Dark Knight. Seems to often coax extreme reactions.
