There was so much hype for Synclavier’s new release, then the images and videos were released and everyone was left scratching their heads as to what happened.
wash your mouth out with soap
you’ve never heard of a limousine?
man_facepalming
I actually think it makes the Mustang look better.
the nsx rear chop job makes the mustang look better? you may be on to something
Is that not the back end of a Mustang being towed?
Haha, nope it isn’t. He should have used a 98 Mustang.
it’s the back end of an acura NSX converted to a trailer
with some 20 inch work wheels!
I mean, to bring it back to the Monomachine keyboard, that thing is what I call a “landlord synth”: when a landlord doesn’t want to pay to make proper repairs and just DIY’s shit out like a cave dweller from 1 MYA.
I tried one in person. It does sound really good. If you know the plugin version it’s not too hard to get around, though the arrangement of groups of knobs was not super intuitive for me. I love the plugin so I think I’ll stick with that despite the extra features in the hardware.
The main deal killer is that the buttons are really tall and lean disconcertingly when you push them. It just feels wrong.
Also:
is this your first time seeing swedish design or did the volvo just never catch you eye? this is like, high level ruler and compass design. Once is maybe an accident but paint a digitone keys silver and you have an sfx6
Haha, forgot about the “Swiper”. Really pushing the bar forward with that one.
Oh fuck me silly, that’s right: THEY DID IT TWICE!!
LOL
The rounded corner looks like the Knob™ was supposed to go there. So much “why?” in one product I was really excited about.
He seems to have a soft spot for ugly gear
I don’t own it anymore. And if I’m honest I think I sold it purely because I just couldn’t stand the look. The round buttons, the colour, the typography on it.
But thankfully they released an MKII of the A4.
Pay someone enough money, and you too can have legends hype a neon blue pile of shit.
I’d be really interested in knowing who designed the aesthetics of these ugly ass machines. Wonder if it’s just a handful of “designers” who keep getting rehired by unsuspecting companies. Also, who was in charge of design at Roland in the 90’s? I have so many questions for them.
It’s all fashion. There was a time when people thought Minimoogs and Prophets and CSes were hideous and dated. Seems to be about a 30-year cycle from ‘new and stylish’ to ‘peak ugly’. In 10-20 years a Monomachine will be as hideous to the youth as a Korg Prophecy is now…
