Mentioned a few times elsewhere on the forum but not here:
LST / _LST conditions are listed in TV’s manual but don’t exist on the unit.
Thanks for the feedback! It is an oversight on my part. I will remove that from the manual. I have also notified the developers that the LST conditions are missing from Tonverk.
Nice! LST and not LST conditions are really useful for pattern transitions, they are a must-have.
the sound architecture diagram in the in the digitakt ii manual has not been updated to reflect how bitrate reduction, overdrive, and the base-width filter can be placed before or after the filter machine:
here’s the same diagram in digitone ii for comparison:
Ahh, thanks for the heads up. I will have a look at that.
In Tonverk manual, page 30, it says;
• PATTERN MUTE MODE In PATTERN MUTE mode, the muted tracks are muted only in the active pattern. In this mode, the [TRIG]/[SUBTRACKS] keys are lit magenta. If you are not in MUTE mode, but have muted one or several tracks/subtracks in PATTERN MUTE mode, the [MUTE] key will be lit dimly magenta. In PATTERN MUTE mode, on a track that uses a Subtracks machine, if you mute a subtrack, the track’s [TRIG] key will be lit dimly magenta.
Press [MUTE] + [DOWN] to enter GLOBAL MUTE mode.
Press [FUNC] + double-press [TRK] to enter PATTERN MUTE mode.
These bottom two lines are incorrect, right??
Is this just a typo or is something else trying to be explained? @eangman
Yeah that is not right indeed. The second to last line should read: Press [MUTE] + [DOWN] to enter PATTERN MUTE mode.
The last line is totally incorrect and I will remove is ASAP. Thanks for letting me know ![]()
A recent post underlined that for Tonverk software, Elektron most likely used parts of software bricks that have their own licence.
I believe it could be appropriate to mention all the Open Source libs that were used if any, in the manual maybe, and/or the OS notes.
i fully support @LyingDalai on this. i just wanted to chime in because this is a sensitive topic for some part of this community but oddly they’re usually not proactive to reach out to music tech brands of their favorite software/hardware about such topics. so showing my support in hopes of bringing more visibility to this issue even if it’s not an issue for me personally. (i’ll be honest, i generally assume a serious corporation does the right thing by default)
i highly encourage everyone concerned about this to email Elektron support, so it doesn’t get lost in the noise and ends up becoming an insignificant detail in a forum post in some corner of the internet. IF they used open source code, i’m sure they will be more than happy to share the relevant licensing details in the manual or distribute it with the zip file of the firmware.
