The Crystal Method

Since I made this thread on Deadmaus.
Deadmaus is a mixing and mastering god

I need to make one for my favorite electronic act The Crystal Method.

Posting this in case someone hasn’t listened to them (well ok, I’m sure most everyone has  )

My favorite electronica album of all time (so far) is Vegas.

Esp this version of Trip Like I Do with Richard Patrick from Filter:

You might want to correct the title.

That track is a good one - but I could never get into crystal method. Similar to Filter - I liked the big numbers but couldn’t find much depth for me. Definitely amazing from production perspective. Maybe I’ll give them another try.

I’m sure you know this, but in case anyone else doesn’t- fun fact. Richard Patrick is the brother of Robert Patrick - aka T1000 from Terminator 2.

Done! Thx

I was a fan when they were hot. So like… high school. In general I always liked them but the Bones theme song is so bad that it taints my memories.

It sounds like someone boring trying to do a “crystal method type tune.”

I loved Filter as a kid and Trip Like I Do is one of the songs responsible for exposing me to electronic music after I bought Vegas. The Roni Size/Reprazent album that had a video on MTV, and Come To Daddy were the other two which brought me to realms I was not expecting as a rock-loving 11 year old.

are they the dudes who did the Bones™ theme tune? :joy::heart:

damn I love bones.

[edit, oops missed parts of the posts above that confirmed this. I just woke up].

Totally agree that the “Bones” track is pretty lame LOL.

I’m pretty sure that was a money grab for them. A lot of their music got into TV and movies. Esp after 3000 miles to Graceland

It took me a weirdly long time to get into Vegas, especially considering it seems to be everyone’s favourite. I prefer Tweekend as I think it’s a bit more adventurous, but they’re both solid albums. I listened to Legion Of Boom a fair bit when it came out as well then sort of drifted away from them. Was not a fan of Divided By Night.
