Very interested in this! I hope it will have midi in/out/soft thru, so I can integrate it in my midi chain and that it wonât be too bulky, so I can put it in the table drawer.
I made a list of what amazona dot de published almost three years back. It lists all of the Behringer GIP that they were expecting back then with a percentage likelihood of it becoming real.
Itâs pretty interesting to go over this list. Even the stuff that they rated Behringer as less likely to deliver, has now made it into production.
It is good for me too to look at the stuff still missing in action.
The amazona link in that post now points to the year old version of that amazona list. ( Good i saved an old copy here. ) I expect theyâll do the âWhat can we expect from Behringer in 2027 ?â list sometime this month to replace last years.
Is it true that Behringer are making a copy of the CDJ2000 thatâll only cost a few hundred quid? ![]()
As far as I know theyâve teased something like a XDJ-AZ clone (I.e. an all-in-one) rather than a CDJ clone, but Iâm certainly hoping thatâs in their future plans. For home use the price of CDJs is just crazy.
On the PolyKeys 61 âŚ
Some options have occured to me on how iâd like to be able to play with this arrangement.
One is having the bass notes selecting from various chord sets in a key and scale like on the Korg Keystage with the ribbon giving notes from scales and chords related to those selected chords.
Another would also be similar to the Keystage where the poly-aftertouch pressure can have dynamic affects on notes in an arppegiated MIDI sequence. Korg took this interaction some ways along, but the door has been left open for more extensive dynamic MIDI controller output control.
I had a a pair of 3000 for a year or so but I sold them. They werenât as fun as I thought theyâd be.
Especially when think about how much fun you could have with a synth that costs that much! AlphaTheta have really pulled of a magic marketing trick by making us aspire to own DJ gear that only really belongs in venues. I used the new 3000x (with an even bigger screen) at a venue recently and itâs certainly feels luxurious to use, but I donât really like having two big tablet screens full of information staring up at me. The combined screen real estate of two CDJ-3000x is larger than my laptop screen! If Behringer were to make a CDJ rip-off Iâd rather it was closer to an XDJ-2000 than a CDJ-3000, but I might be in a minority there.
Iâve just realised that my feelings on digital DJ gear and digital synths are not logically consistent at all, because I resent CDJs for effectively being overpriced MIDI controllers for little, underpowered computers that only do one thing, and donât do it as well as a normal computer does. But for some reason Iâm happy to buy digital synths.
