As always, it is always too young… (assuming it’s person who did nothing bad to others).
This is why I decided to try to have a lot of enjoyment from my days here. You never know what will happen tomorrow.

Seen sparingly in use at start of one of my fav tracks
Bout time they get to the OSCar.
The Jack Docherty Show! That is a 90s blast from the past. One of Channel 5s first shows when it started back in 97!
Yes. I love this video. Its so 90s
You made this up, right?
The oscar is my last dream synth.
I wish behringer would make it. They said they would years ago and then silence. I think it didn’t get enough love on announcement.
I am not that clever. This is a screen capture from Behringer. I think it is good to point out from an expectation perspective, that this is Behringer taking input rather than them announcing GIP. But in their Facebook post they call this a “prototype” which means to me a physical object with at least some cursory capabilities at sound production and operation. This is an expensive way to scope a product for production and get customer feedback, but Behringer likes this method and has done this many times. They’re willing to spend the money.
Let me now speculate, this will be on the lower cost if they ever manufacture this, maybe more like their MS-1, so maybe $400 or even down to $300. It depends on features and how many voices.
Behringer engineering has improved in the years since they did the first DeepMind.
Wow, this is seriously ugly. The original is ugly in its own charming way, with the rubber slots and extruded plastic panel. This is not.
I wonder why they chose minikeys. Do they offer any other products in this form factor? I think it would look better in the SH-5/MonoPoly form factor.
To me this looks like an almost production-ready product, down to the moulded bend/mod slots.
The good news is they made it polyphonic.
Don’t know why but my first impression is microkorg.
I like it. It shows how subjective appearances are.
Yeah the Swing. They also have the Groove Key GIP.
I think the work on these along with the modular design foundation they have allows them to do other prototypes quickly as well.
Just me speculating but i think we may see other protos in this form factor coming up over the next year. Also watch for more on the Groove Key coming up soonish.
As far as why mini-keys, forgive me for stating the obvious. It’s a size and cost intermediate between a full sized keyboard synth and their Minis, that works well enough for people who are not extreme keyboard players.
As Behringer has been moving toward, i would not be surprised with other Oscar products from them in other form factors.
I wouldnt be surprised if the synthi drops very soon. Followed by the Enigma(buchla clone)
I’m definitely no fan of mini keys. The Keystep and the K-25m were the only exceptions I was willing to make… then came the Minifreak. I made a conscious decision to not buy any more mini keys from there. I doubt this OSCar clone will make me eat my words.
There’s no saying this will be a mini key synth once it makes it to final design. If they get enough negative feedback for mini keys they may well go with the hinged full size key form factor
That’s what I’m hoping for.
Unsure why they’re doing linndrum and dmx, basically the same piece of gear with different layout / control surface. ( yes I do understand there are slight differences )
Not keen on the box graphics either .
I guess there’s a market for both .
I did own the Linndrum and the DX and they are really great instruments, but you can really recreate the sound with some good samples in a DAW or Digitakt or Rytm so imho this is pretty unnecessary.
