Karaage is marinated boneless fried chicken. I’m typing this from a beer bar (Starboard) in Kobe where we just ordered some. It’s supposed to be good at the Kyoto Beer Lab.
Ohhh yeah we didn’t eat but yeah other people were eating the chicken and were raving about it.
Can I drop a sake in here? Pleased to find this in the depachika at the Tobu store at Ikebukuro station in Tokyo, for a very modest price. Went well with the meal of end-of-day-discounted sushi and faux-French sweets we enjoyed in our Airbnb.
I made a new friend, I helped him home-brew a batch a few weeks ago and in return I got a party keg of the batch, a “hoppy” stout. I used to homebrew too but since I moved I haven’t got enough space.
One of our local breweries closed just before Christmas and we snagged a bottle of their finest sour. Tonight was quite possibly the final drips I’ll taste from that place and very groovebox-y!
Got this in my Binny’s email today. Going to have to keep an eye out for it for the upcoming holiday.
@Kegeratorz might be interested in this one as well.
Hell yeah! I’m going to ask about that! Sounds delicious!
I’ve been on painkillers for the pulled tooth and haven’t had a drink in 3 weeks. What should my first beer be?
It has to be pretty low proof or it might knock me on my ass. So none of that double IPA whatnot.
I had one of those NA beers by Athletic with lunch yesterday. It was fine.
If you’re looking for something with a little hop character, but lower ABV than standard IPA’s, my two favorite sessionable IPA’s are Lagunitas Daytime, and Founders All Day IPA.
Thanks! I like All Day IPA but I’m kind of sick of it. It was the only good beer at my corner bodega for a really long time. (They also had Pils Urquell but when you looked at the bottom, half the time it was an expired case.)
I’ll look for the Lagunitas.
